ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Suppose underwear is 'optional' ?

Don't think either will flatter David Carney's pre-season figure. Gonna need more 'Vaso' if he's going to manage to slip into one of those numbers, especially after this photo of him at training in the blue away shorts was released.

Good for the League that we havent lost a club or to have the FFA keep pumping in the cash to foot the bills.

The other positive is myself & others still get to keep hating 'The Scum'.

Keep in mind that he was released from 1860 Munich in November, and only played 8 games in the last 18 months or so. I can see him struggling a fair bit with match fitness.
Ah didn't see that. Will be interesting to see how well he trained away from a club or if he went the Jardel style.

Something that just occurred to me....Jets fans are all deluded (well, not that general fact, that's well established, I'm getting to the point.....)

Why the hell do they insist they play in gold when their strip is, and always has been, bronze?

Gold could only ever look like that colour if Clive Palmer ate it then shat it back out whole.....

I mean, come on - how many drugs do you need to be on to think this is gold? Even bronze is generous here! Skin colour perhaps!!! MY GOD THEY'RE ALL NAKED!!!

well, we always knew they were deviant....

You know what - they've nailed it.

Blue home, white away (which looks razor sharp) and gold third kit (which we think is shit but which they love, so whatevs).

And then you look at the shit we've been served up.

I don't mind the blue strip, but there ain't no gold in there. Don't know why they need a 3rd strip.

The yellow socks on the bronze strip is pretty tragic though. Still, not as bad as MV's away strip - which looks like they're trying to emulate a Sydney away strip, with the colours (though after their ' I wanna be a security guard' fluoro strip, I guess anything was a step up).

Apparently their membership is doing well. I actually wouldn't want to see them fail. Though, the rivalry has become so boring that it's barely worth even considering lately, because their on-field performance has become a joke, as have both of our crowd figures.

Though I always thought the CCM-Sydney matches had a better atmosphere, but that was because the Cove brought so many fans. Moreso back when the away team was in Bay 14 though. Good times.

A long time ago, but some of the Mariners faithful can remember when Newcastle actually had a slightly more competitive side:

Ohhh ! the sublime passing of Troy Halpin in midfield, never understood why that guy didnt play in the A-League ???

Had the pleasure of a watching him from the bench for a season with Central Coast United FC in the old NSW Premier League a decade ago.

Lawrie use to come scouting at our games (season before the A-League started), he signed Nigel Boogard who we had from the Joey's (along with Kane Wolfendon & Joel Thiessen).

Why Lawrie signed Noel 'back passing' Spencer over someone like Troy Halpin (who had 13 Socceroo caps) to this very day still astounds me.

AND the amazing Jason Bennet who in that above game in 1996 against West Adelaide scored what was then an Australian Football record fastest ever 'hat-trick' in 6 minutes!

Bennet held that record of '6 mins' for 17 years until it was beaten in May 2013 by Kostas Kanakaris, who netted three goals in 2 minutes 51 seconds for his club South Hobart in their victory over Launceston City.

Another little known fact about Jason Bennet, he was the player who had the honour of scoring the first ever goal in the A-League.

Smart move by the FFA asking the Cardiff Cash Converters to move the Jets to the front window display ............

Newcastle Jets sale a 'matter of weeks:

d_1txmjvzspxu6g1uukav75h9gch.jpg

The sale of the Newcastle Jets should be completed in a "matter of weeks" but not before the start of the 2015-16 A-League season.

Football Federation Australia has been locked in negotiations with Stephen Thompson, the chairman and majority shareholder of Scottish top-flight club, Dundee United.

Although there was no confirmation of the buyer, FFA confirmed they had reached a broad agreement for the sale of the Jets to an international group with the handover due before the season kick-off.

On Wednesday it was announced the deal had been “pushed back”.

“FFA and the international group have been through a comprehensive process of due diligence and negotiations,” an FFA spokesperson said.

“We have reached broad agreement on the sale, but the process won’t be finished by the time the Jets kick off against the Wellington Phoenix in round one.

“We’d expect the additional time required will be a matter of weeks, rather than months.

“We’re making this announcement today in the interests of giving players, coaches and staff some certainty for the season kick off.”

David Eland will remain in the role of Newcastle Jets CEO until such time that a formal handover is completed.

The Jets were caught in the death spiral of Nathan Tinkler’s sports empire leading to a gutting of the player roster and backroom staff.

New coach Scott Miller has helped steady the ship.

Eland told the Newcastle Herald: ‘‘Once again, this is a sign that the club has a really bright future.

‘‘If there are people out there who are thinking about engaging and becoming members of the club, I’d hope that this news today is the catalyst to confirm their membership for season 2015-16.’’

Halpin was indeed a great player. But I suspect that he would have failed Lawrie's 'NDH' test. I think they used Halpo's mould for 'SackWacker'.

Will be interesting to see what, if any, loan deals eventuate. ???

Aussie &former Scummer, Adam Taggart at Dundee, I'm sure will help in the 'sales pitch' to prospective loan'ees on the living conditions in the City of Newcastle.

(Ah the Marinator bus-trip memories ...)
"Fibro, Fibro, Fibro, Fibro, Fibro ...BRICK!-Hooray! :vhappy:... (ohhh) ...Fibro, Fibro, Fibro, Fibro".

Taggart can also tell the Dundee boys that these very few 'brick' houses are ALL owned by former Jets owner Nathan Tinkler, who rents them out as the main 'slum-lord' of the region.

And after he was robbed by his very own Scummer's,

http://www.theherald.com.au/story/472214/tinkler-home-robbed-thieves-drive-off-in-500000-ferrari/

Unfortunately he decided to remove all the locks on doors and windows, so as all of his tenant's could experience what he did, the despair of coming home and seeing your Fantastic Furniture 17pce set and Reject Shop stuff's been 'knicked'.
