Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Anyone know if there will be much difference in session this year?

We used to do just about the most session in the league under lawrie didnt we?

Will Arnie be doing the same? Spending more time on tactics etc? Less sessions in general?

Good pics.
Not sure about sessions jesus but they certainly look as fit as ever under Clarkey.
Always start a season looking like whippets imo.

Anyone able to give a first hand report on Perez?
Amini is continuing his good form in Vietnam apparently.

Another good media story for GA and the Mariners. I dont like all this pre season positivity for us. It does not bode well

Like it.
Particularly liked his comment in the Cockerill article about the Mariners truly believing in themselves.
I think this has been one of our downfalls in the past. It's a winners mentality that you have to take into big games.

Maybe he isn't as bad as we all thought....... Good start - he talks the talk and is walking it... Seems to take on the Coast spirit and thats only a good thing... He has the defense well set and thats a bloody good platform to start....

Excellent substitutions at just the right time.
Parking the bus worried me - and its rarely pretty - but we have walked away with three points. TOOO MANY times we have watched those games slip and desperately rued them later in the season.

Think his placement and tactic of Simon was terrific. And I like that people are assume this will be our style of play. It has not been our pre season style - and tonight I believe was just a different more physical option - chosen with Perez going out late and also us coming up against Skoko and an unknown, but clearly very dangerous on paper Heart side away from home.

Thats a good 3 points on the road that is.

Finally I liked his post match. happy with defense, unhappy with our holding of the ball. Calling it as it is.

Top stuff Arnie.

Back in his Northern Spirit days ... GA I can honestly say was always on the money about how to develop football in Australia....

I often tho he should have chosen a media career or Administration career ... because if nothing else he does have an excellent football brain and a unique understanding of the Australian football landscape.... for example in his second year at NS he said the NSL would be better to have six teams and play each other four times... A mate of mine who works in the media says when GA says stuff he is always well prepared and has a very deep understanding around football.

He choose coaching and we all know the failures ... NS... Australia... Olympic team... perhaps he was always one step ahead of were he should have been ...

GA is slowly winning me over ... and I gotta admit he has put together a excellent team ... well at least on paper...

except he didn't put together today's team....e.g. I have no idea why he left Bojic and Griffiths on the bench until late in the game? had we had them on earlier, we cold have won.........fukken!

I'm with midfielder. Very impressed with Rose, Ollie and Dutchy - all of which he brought in. And he made the subs today while they has time to make the a difference.

Yehhh, bad situation, torn between staying loyal to my boyhood hero (kewell) and my team, if this is true it does cause a little tension :(

Kewell's manager is claiming GA is the source - http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,27579127-5014539,00.html?from=public_rss

You could just see it coming couldn't you.

But Slater maintains it was a player - and was verified by other players and was common knowledge around the traps.

Bottom line the lot of them need to be more professional and keep their traps shut. Like other more experienced footballing countries...

Take Argentina and England for exapmle...
