ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Greenpole, you have recent experience in this field...what advice do you have for supporting a team fighting relegation? if there is any

Many many experiences lol - we were 92nd in the league once after a loss away.

Expect the worst ALL the time, believe nothing and stomp on any faint flicker of hope the second it appears (sorry, thats Fulham supporting 101)

Being relegated is the single worst feeling you can have in the game as a fan IMHO, its like a slow death, you know its coming but its still a horrible shock when it does. Losing 2x GF's is nothing like it because you know you have still had a good season.

When you survive, you have this to look forward to

The Football League proper has 4 divisions...... with 92 teams.  So at one point, Fulham were last in League 2.

Positively disgusting performance from Sunderland tonight...... 11 men behind the ball (and even further, seriously, it gave "parking the bus" a whole meaning) for 90 minutes, only to lose it 1-0 in the 91st......

Nemanja!!! Whoa!!!
Nemanja!!!!
HE COMES FROM SERBIA!!!
HE'LL F*CKING MURDER YA!!!!!

OK ill admit that while I didnt see the 1-3 loss to Liverpool, and that yes, we probably where on a hiding to nothing in that game regardless. I'm going to say this:

Dear Mr. Paul Ince,
We hired you, after Mark Hughes had lead us so well for several seasons with UEFA cup runs, and top half finishes coming with regularity. His transfer market nous was to be commended, as Benny McCarthy came from Porto for 2.5 million pounds and was second top scorer in the EPL with 18 goals. The following season we signed Roque Santa Cruz for 3.5 million pounds from Bayern Munich. What an astute piece of business that has been, scoring 19 goals in the EPL in his first season. Paul, your transfer policy has left me...well...frankly its shit. Robbie Fowler, ummm...hmmm...oh yeah once upon a time played for Liverpool didnt he? Then disappeared to Cardiff City, aged 33 suffered hip and ankle injuries, which kept him out for 6 months. The general conception is that Fowler is in decline physically, and as a footballer. We have the two aforementioned strikers, who last season formed a strikeforce to be feared, yet you sign a crocked 33 y.o.....maybe I'm missing something?  maybe this is a one-off thing, a minor lapse in judgement, perhaps the transfer market isnt your strongpoint. Yeah sure we lost our main creative outlet in David Bentley, which wont help our cause in attack, but our defence is the same as last season, and with the additions of Vinnie Grella at CDM perhaps we can use stability at the back as the basis on which we build this season

But no, you can't. We have conceded 31 goals in 16 matches this season, basically 2 a game, should this trend continue we will concede 73 goals we conceded 48 last season Paul.

Ok, so working on that defensive record, which is dismal, perhaps you can build a team that throws caution to the wind and winning games despite conceding a few? Our attacking record is better then WBA, who sit below us and are prime relegation candidates at the moment, Sunderland who sit one place above us in 18th, and have already said goodbye to their manager(an old mate of yours from the ManYoo midfield), and Fulham( they have the 2nd worst attack, but are 9th at the moment due to having the 4th best defensive record on the league) and.....oh...wait, thats it, our attacking record is only better then the other 2 relegation threatened teams and a team who seem to rely on a brickwall defence for their success.

We look set to loose Roque Santa Cruz in January to Eastlands(albeit for some major cash it would seem), which unless reinvested into another striker capable of scoring a large number of goals, I fear our attack could be rendered totally useless as you refuse to trust Benny McCarthy at this point in time.

So, Paul Ince, I beg you to see sense, you aren't ready to manage a Premier League side, perhaps after this experience you never will be trusted by another chairman. But do the right thing, pack your bags so we can get a manager capable of lifting us out of this dire situation

    From a concerned fan

Newcastle should have won the game quite easily. They were fantastic in 1st half but lost there way when Guthrie went off and they had no midfield. Kinnear is rubbish! Mike Ashley needs to sell the club and the sooner Shearer is the Manager the better.

Off to see Hibs v Hamilton next Sat at Easter Road.
