Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

You bring a traffic cone into the bay and use it as a megaphone, ill jam it up your ass

Beary, I aint that loose. The way I see it, anything that helps get the bay chanting is a good thing. We need another megaphone or two, that's for sure, because people at the front can't hear what the blokes at the back are yelling. It's all about co-ordination.

We've got enough megaphones, it's just finding people to use them.

Good luck getting that cone into the stadium in the first place.

Cones are ok, just go in by the Bridge as there is often a sniffer dog at the main gate.

Oh? Traffic cones

Move along, nothing to see here

When I return (December) I'd be happy to take up one of the megaphones. Doesn't bother me- anything that can get a chant started across the whole bay quicker is fine with me.

We'll see what roddy has to say about that. :p ;D

The thing is that if we have more than one megaphone, does it turn into to many cheifs with not enough indians?

I noticed at some stages last night that we did have two chants going, one died out very quickly, could this be made worse with the introduction with another megpahone?

i agree we need to find a better way of communicating i.e. before we introduce a second megaphone. The only way to do 2 megaphones as i said atm would be have them standing back to back in the middle of the bay with one projecting downwards and the other upwards

You might not have seen it skilly, but craig was constantly checking his mobile inbetween megaphone blasts. I was txting him with what I could see from the back of the bay. It worked, to an extent. If craig had 1 mega at the front, me with 1 at the back, it would work well IMO. 2 megaphones in the bay of 300 people is not to many chiefs at all IMO.

Can you source another megaphone exactly the same as yours craig? Im happy to pay.

yeah i saw bear, but texting is an expensive bitch for these sorts of things and the communication wasnt there radio system, carrier pigeons, morse code or a baby monitor would be cheaper in the long run :p. the front need a megaphone though, the people just went quiet when craig went up the back.

One woule project to the bottom of the bay and the other would project to the top, but could get muffled if they are not in synch.

Now, after three - one, two, three... OLE OLE OLE OLE, CENTRAL COAST MARINERS

I don't know what megaphones you've got, but some megaphones have the option of connecting a microphone. I wonder whether a single mic could be connected to 2 megaphones with one pointed up top and the other pointed down bottom. That would solve the problem of getting them in synch.

Back to the topic, has anyone else been casting envious eyes on the 1st upper bay to the left of bay 16 (above the arrive alive signs)

Always empty so wouldnt piss anyone off either.

Worth a burl for the ACL??

That's all the point I was trying to make. Away supporters (which really sums up to Sydney and Newcastle, noone else brings a true group to Bluetongue) currently have the decisive advantage with acoustics. Well put floss.

As a Sydney fan, I have to say we out sing you every time. I know I'll definately cop crap for this but deep down you all know it's true, it has nothing to do with acoustics of the stadium or anything, our away support almost doubles your home end support.

I'm not saying that's your fault however, but I'm guessing your home end runs a bit like Melbourne's where you must have a membership to seat in this area, and it is heavily enforced?
I know this is to keep troublemakers out, etc. But if you loosened the restrictions on access to the bay you might make a bit more noise, members aren't the only ones who want to sing and support the team on the pitch.

The Marinators used to be great at support, but you have definitely dropped off guys, you can hear Lawrie talking on TV at your games it's that quiet.

I'd love nothing more than for you guy's to become a great supporters group, because as a Sydney fan, Mariners away is one of the best matches of the year, and a battle of the voices I guess you could call it between ourselves in The Cove, and The Marinators would make this match even better, and I'm sure you would all agree.

Also, on moving bays, I suggest you don't. 99% of Football teams in the world have their home end behind the goals, You guy's don't want to end up like the Jets on the side of the stadium do you ;)

And so it should; you've got 14 times the population base. In fact, its a poor effort that you don't bring more supporters ;D

We may live in the biggest city, but we can't draw a crowd for shit ;)

I'm happy with our away support, generally fills about 3 bays? At Bluetongue from what I can see

Well if you can see your away support at BT, you are probably like most of the SFC/Scum trolls on here and watch on TV.

there is a bit of truth though. relaxing the enforcement of memberships on the bay would help. we were comparatively good against the scum on friday but that was a big match and lots of people either bought bay tickets or snuck in, such that security couldnt really enforce it and tbh we need to keep it up. there may be a day when the club can demand more money for a bay 16 seat and people will be willing to pay it but it is not today and IMO the memberships issue could actually damage support for the mariners

The crowds at the last couple of games in particular support your argument Skilbeck. Prior to that, we had excuses with things like NRL GF, olympics etc. Lets hope they take note for next season.

Yep, spot on, it is all about co-ordination, but again I repeat, you bring a traffic cone into the bay and use it as a megaphone, i WILL jam it up your ass. You might be a bogan, the rest of the bay are not.
