I watched TWG on Monday night, and they all agreed (well Foster didn't, but he didn't disagree either, which is an agree seeing how much he loves us) that Zadkobitch should have seen red the first time and Heskey should have been carded for simulation instead of a penalty. When pushed Zdrilich said definitely the ref rooted the game.

A-League 'benches' referee for howlers

THE referee at the centre of two contentious calls in last week's heated local derby between the Central Coast Mariners and Newcastle Jets has been stood down.

Ben Williams, who was in charge of the match won 2-1 by the Jets, was not listed to officiate at any game this weekend.

While A-League chief executive Damien de Bohun didn't return The Australian's calls, a media spokesman denied Williams had been sacked.

"Ben Williams has been rested, or if you like -- benched," the spokesman said.

"A review of Williams's performance last weekend found he made two wrong decisions."

The league's decision to not appoint Williams to any Round 4 games follows a call this week by the Mariners' Josh Rose for match officials to be treated like players and dropped when they fail to meet professional standards.

Rose was on the receiving end of two game-changing decisions that cost the Mariners any chance of getting back into the desperate encounter.

The Central Coast defender finished on the wrong end of a studs-up challenge from Newcastle midfielder Ruben Zadkovich in the opening minute of the game.

Instead of Williams reaching for a red card, he issued the Jets player with a yellow. Later in the game, Rose was part of an attacking move incorrectly ruled offside, stymying a Mariners push on Newcastle's goal.

The FFA spokesman confirmed to The Australian that director of referees Ben Wilson had ruled both Williams's calls as being incorrect.

Meanwhile, Mariners coach Graham Arnold will be looking to veteran striker Adam Kwasnik to add spark to his team's attack, which has found the back of the net only twice in three outings.

Kwasnik is one of six changes to the squad named to tackle the Heart in Melbourne on Sunday.

So Perez get sited by the MRP & gets 2 weeks for simulation,Hesky falls against McGlingy(not our biggest defender) & gets a penalty & there`s no calls for the MRP at all.
It all makes sense now.... :headbutt:

Yep.
What a f**king joke that was!!!!!
Reddy clearly trips Perez........Perez makes a meal of it.......FFA prove themselves to be below retarded and ban him for diving and set a precedent that they have cowered away from ever since.

And at the same time as making themselves a mockery.......then continue to allow some of the worse refs in the history of the game (breeze, gilliette, Williams) to embarrass the sport with their incompetence.
