ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

apparently the club has a big one lined up but i dont know. i think Celtic are happy with the lineup they have already (provided they dont lose Naka, Boruc or McGeady). Bobo Balde is about to be released and a few others have gone (especially defenders) which makes me think a few signings at the back may be the case. I dont know if Celtic are willing to pay for Samaras

looks like Lee Naylor is on the way out and Celtic want to replace him with Vitorino Antunes from Roma. It also looks a strong possibility that George Boateng will join us from Middlesbrough

DUFC have got this Spanish player over on trial from Valencia.....Francesco Sandaza......top scorer from their "B" team.

I found this video.....looks ok although some of the defending is a bit dodgy(so's the music with the video!)...but he looks like he can put the ball away ok.It'll be interesting to see what Levien makes of him as he seems to have a good eye for a bargain.

Jim McLean the legendary ex DUFC manager now writes a column for the Daily Record in Scotland.Interesting article this about the Dutch influence on his DUFC teams in the 70's through to the early 90's.I remember when I was at school over 30 years ago McLean used to go on about German and in particular Dutch football. He also used to be very critical of how brutal the Scottish game had become......in the 80's we had thugs like Roy Aitken and Tam Forsyth running around kicking lumps out of ball players like Paul Sturrock and Gordon Strachan. And you were allowed to tackle from behind!
It's no coincidence that DUFC,a team who had never won a trophy before had the most successful period in their history while he was in charge, winning 1 league title and 2 league cups as well as apearing in numerous other cup finals including a UEFA cup final. They qualified for europe 12 or 13 seasons in a row under McLean and regularly took the scalps of clubs 100 times bigger than DUFC........PSV,Barca,Werder Bremen,Munchengladbach(twice),Monaco,Lens,Anderlecht,Standard Liege I can remember off the top of my head. They also went within a goal of the 1984 European cup final against Liverpool in 1984,beating Roma 2-0 at home but choking in the return to lose 3-0. :'(
The type of football we played back the was not typical Scottish football and the results showed especially in Europe.

It's a pity no one else in authority in the Scottish game had the vision of Jim McLean back then.......who knows where the game might have been now.....the same could be said about England.

Thats why you'll never hear any critisism from me of the "Dutch methods" being used now in Australia.

Read the article and see how much of what he is saying is being implimented here now ie small sided games for kids etc.

In other news there is some interest from the big clubs on Artur Boruc (duh). But he has attached a 10-15m pounds price tag on him so he isnt going to come cheap for anyone and would be an SPL record. The highest being Craig Gordon from Hearts to Sunderland and Alan Hutton from the Huns to Tottenham being 9m

Levein must have been impressed he's signed him up pretty quick.

Levein seems to have got a decent squad together, brought in some decent new blood and kept their best players at the club (Robson excepted).

Quite optimistic about the new season...... :).......wish I could say the same about the Mariners! :-\

1. Rangers
2. Motherwell
3. Dundee Utd

You obviously don't have much confidence this season  ;D ;D

I see it differently:

1. Celtic
2. Hibernian
3. Dundee United
.....
12. Rangers
