Nicky Travis, voice hasn't even broken but he showed more balls than the rest of them. Good on him giving it to Kwasnik for not running. It's not Wellington ffs, this is the MARINERS. I say again, THIS IS THE MARINERS. Where the fark is Dylan McCallister? He better be in a coma or something because to play Dick Mrdja ahead of him should be illegal.

I cannot see any salad plates in our near future unless it's the one at the Wyong RSL buffet.

Clear out the overpaid deadwood and find some more Matty Simons or actually shock-horror get a decent o/s marquee in there.

In the words of David Bowie "turn, and face the f- f- f- f- farking changes"

Will have to wait and see I guess ... on the bright side, it could be Disco Nik!  :vhappy:
It's our only true ball player Caceras, GONE to Wellington.  Obviously the flair is not what the MARINERS want !
Also while I'm here, be prepared people for a bottom 2 finish, yes I am being negative because that F@#$in dribble was once again clueless, no idea how to change a game up, or change your system when you are behind ! What happened to maybe going with a back 3 to try and put pressure further up the park, might as well lose 3-0 but at least have a F@#$in go !  Bottom line NO QUALITY, pay peanuts and get F@#$in monkeys !

Caceres is lazy and a non team player, has been so bad since arriving on the coast!  If it is he who is leaving he won't be missed.

Today's game was pathetic, but I'm glad it happened in round 4 and not 24!

Boogs, Danny and Travis well done........the rest of them need to take a good look at themselves, Mrdja can just f**k off!

Travis is constantly trying something, once he gets more time in the team, he should work out great. As long as everyone works with him.Cant wait to see the type of partnership he can strike up with wee mac.

Seriously are you taking the piss. We have one bad game and its all doom and gloom. The lads will know how bad they went today and will change next week. I know its a frustrated post but deep breath and next time think twice about posting complete dribble!!!

Just thought...  if this is what it takes to shake up the starting 11, get Travis on, piss Nik off, and swap Caceres for a more talented left sided player from Jamaica who can play for more than one half... then it could be the best thing that ever happened to us.

Want to be... worst performance I think I've honestly ever seen. At least when we were thumped by Kawasaki it was by some real quality. The Roar were average at best and it was beyond painful to watch our team play without heart against them. That should have been 3 points much more than the Bling match.

Also it better wake us up or I think Perth will thump us.

Now would be REALLY REALLY good time to announce a new "exciting" signing.

Oh and yes, incredibly glad we didn't serve that utter crap at home. It's our heart that makes us Mariners and watching us play without it would be the worse crowd tonic I could possibly imagine.

Hit the nail on the head. Spot on we were bad, actually make that woeful and only went down 1-0 (thanks to Danny) they weren't that much better. Just on Ahmed I made the comment during the game that when he is passed the ball he gets rid of it as if it were ticking! Some times the pass he is attempting is on but because he is so keen to get rid of it before being TACKLED the player that the pass is intended for hasn't arrived in time?

Vukovic our best, must have enjoyed the work out. Boogard valiant. our only true natural never die worrying body on the line defender. Hutchinson our only midfielder in first half, consistently won the ball and didn't give it away. Travis sparked it up when he came on. Porter? first pass into touch sums him up. Heffernan, too scared of Henrique to go forward and provide width. Wilkinson ineffectual and shouldn't the captain make sure that all opponents are marked up at set pieces? McGlinchey - did he play? (forgive him though, for first poor performance) Bojic - ditto McGlinchey. Kwasnik - now you can see why some hate him, truly woeful. Mrdja - in his defence not even Drogba could have scored today from the service given. Simon - rare event for him not to be in the game, hope he picks up next week. Clark, first tackle, first foul - please don't play again. Elrich - if Lawrie believes he will come good has to play full nineties in the NYL when it starts in September otherwise he is a passenger we can not afford to carry.

I hate it when the Mariners prove Fozzie correct - "can't keep possession for more than three passes, can't keep possession under pressure."
I hate it when the Mariners prove Robbie Slater correct - "no quality"
I hate it when the Mariners prove Rebbeca Wilson correct "the A League is terrible"

Apparently Lawrie has said we were flat. Perhaps we were simply tired? I mean this is our fourth game in four weeks, fatigue must start kicking in. This A League is so physically draining. When really shits me is the lack of mental preparation for these games (and there have been plenty of others) whereby the team turns up and simply doesn't play. You would think, you would expect, that the players would look forward to the game, would want to play. FFS. Get a sports psycholigist!

And finally, last post - the players and the coaching staff should be made to give up their pay for this week and reimburse all those hardy fans who travelled to Brisbane to see such dross.

Went to the game, and I feel a bit ripped off. Spending money on flights, leaving home at a ridiculous hour in the morning to do the trip in 12 hours with the flu (and having to spend time in a car AND a plane with Bear...enough punishment...and nearly be killed by a Deathstar Pilot...where was Gary when you needed him?)... to see that.

Travis is great, needs to start. It honestly looks like all, bar a few, have just lost all passion for the game they are playing and just cbf.

I feel a bit jipped by the players, as not one of them came over to thank us for travelling to watch them play (i.e. watch danny save goals).  Makes me wonder if I should even bother going to Canberra.

Congrats on a 100th game Danny!!

God that was an aweful match to sit and watch. Manya time I was tempted to switch it over, but my lovely missus teasing me about the fact that Moore scored against us, was enough to sit there in spite of her!

WHO was supposed to mark Moore, he came in from the outside of the penalty box - free a as  bird it seems -and was able to aim that header straight in!

Righteo, I've read the above comments. It is a bad match when you rate the Goalie and a Centre defender as your MoMs. Is that right with 0, ZERO, shots on goal. Just about sums up Mrdja's effort for sure.

FFS, is it only me that is noticing that whenever Mrdja is on the pitch in the team, the team falls to shit?

Last night, I noticed that Kwassi was quite tentative around the prick, and he pushed our best form forward onto the wing, making Matt do the dirty work for the hooked nose prima donna! No wonder Simon had a poor game by his standards, I'd find it galling having to run on a bad knee for that c**t too.

Mrdja (*SPIT*)  had at least TWO opportunities to snub out a Roar counter attack when it was still in their defence line, and he slowed down and let them run up the flank. This wasn't late in the game either when maybe tiredness might have been an excuse. He harangued Kwassi and McGlinchey from what I could see on TV, about the service of the ball to HIM. 0 shots on goal Nik, says it all. NOW f**k OFF YOU MISERABLE c**t AND LET THE REST OF THE SQUAD TAKE IT FROM HERE - GO FISHING!!!!!

We *could* have done better with a half game from Caceres, but Travis' cameo was good to watch. He did stuff up some passing moves and looked a bit rusty, some of crosses into the forward line were too deep for example. He appeared to take over the ACM role from McGlinchey when he came on. The little man with the big heart didn't have a great game by what we've seen before, but maybe the likes of Tiatto, Moore & Malcolm studied the videos of him, and made sure he didn't get room?

In all, a dire performance from the Mariners. Maybe it was the heat, I've heard it has been hot up there, by  seasonal comparison, and maybe they felt it a bit more than what the Roar did?

+1, top post. Agree with all your comments ......

I think it was about 30 deg. yesterday in Bris ... if heat was the problem, they may as well not even bother to go to Townsville .... sorry, still fuming this morning.

I hope all the players that didn't turn up yesterday read these posts.

Absolutely disgraceful performance from the mariners, no heart, no passion, no cohesion just nothing. If we are going to blame the heat then obviously the players are not fit, that is managements problem - fact: yesterday we had 1 shot on goal, Liam Reddy may as well been at the beach because we still wouldnt have scored

not good enough

True. But the heat has been abnormal for this time of the year and, well, I was thinking if they travelled to Brisbane say on late Thursday or Friday morning they may not have had enough time to acclimatise? Still, a poor effort from the team as a whole, agreed that many showed no heart.

Four games 3 goals ... all three goals arsey .. Defense good ... but we are kinda plating a 6 - 3- 1 formation with two sweepers and two stoppers...

No sure I know how to turn it around but both Travis & McGlinchey must start IMO and Lewis I have read he is fast holds the ball up ... not sure but would love to see him given some game time...
