Stranger things have happened?

I can recall him having a pretty decent game against Roar, banging in a goal then being selected for the Socceroos, get a run off the bench and then being broken down for the rest of the season!

He did play well in that game, though i believe it was Kwasnik who scored the goal in that game, went through about 12 sets of legs (precision placement) :p

The Adjudicator having a bleat again ...

Brisbane Roar v Central Coast Mariners, Saturday 3pm (EST), Suncorp Stadium , Brisbane
The Adjudicator says: "To have predicted Central Coast would enter round four in third position would have seen you carrying the business card, "Nostradamus". Im 90 per cent sure his book Les Propheties hasnt been updated with the 2008-2009 A-League season, but you can rest assured my book-of-choice, "A-League For Dummies" , has them finishing dead-last. Brisbane will have to do without Frank Farina's urgings but Ill still take the home side here, albeit with a bit of caution. Farina's text messages from an underground bunker will prove the difference. Roar 2-1."

How about a lovely pic of snooky-kins with a #7 Mariners dog jersey? I'm sure Hutch would shit himself laughing when he next comes online!  ;) ;D

A Mariners win is perfectly possible based on the fact that they did win there last season, and Brisbane's second-half implosion against Wellington.

The Roar clearly rely on Charlie Miller to make their attacking gameplan work. Look how he played in Henrique to set up Van Dijk for the opener. When Miller went off, the Roar lost their inventiveness, and then self-destructed with Farina, Oar and Kruse losing their minds.

Was feeling confident, but how could you not be concerned by our injuries.
Oh well... Guessing something like...

                  Danny

Clarkey  Boogs    Wilko    Heff

              Pedj    Hutch

Elrich        Wee Mac        Kwast in space

Not sure about Travis's ball winning capabilities but I'd like to see him take Pedj spot & Pedj take Elrich's spot. Some of Pedj best work last year from left back was getting forward & getting dangerous crosses in, which Elrich was not capable of last game. Although not doubting his ability to break up play I think he lacks the short passing game and vision to allow us to control the central midfield and I don't believe we should go in with two out of form wide men.

Both Welly and the Mariners are showing a bit of steel this year too, while Roar have looked a little fragile in all three matches so far. They've got a bit of the 06-7 Mariners about them...

2-1 to Mariners then.

And we know just how much Craig Moore *loves* Matty. If only Griffin McMaster were keeping...

Elrich RB? Can he even defend?

It might actually be just the thing for him. Wide players more than anything need to be able to hold up the attacker and buy time for the guys inside them. He needn't be an awesome tackler, but his passing and vision are nice for when we're moving forward, without the need for quite as much running as when he's at wide mid. Look at Heffernan - he's a bloody striker, but he's been pretty much playing at left back for five years.

That said, if he's a complete abortion it was simply an experiment that didn't come off.

Forgot to mention that this may be based on Porter's fitness test today.
