ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Termination and employing someone else now would just equal more expenditure, so can’t/won’t happen even if the club wanted to. I can deal with that.

I don’t expect someone could come in now and get our players to play a different style. Change shape though... But for multiple reasons we’re not even suited to a different formation right now either.
PO is out of contract in May. It would cost blob to flick him. Maybe 10-15k.

How is that not a red? Or at least a yellow... if it’s enough to stop a goal it’s enough for a f**ken card.
No it's not. Only needs to be a careless foul to deny a goal. This is good VAR use (although AR should have spotted it to start with). Clear foul on a defender and it affected play - the other defenders had to change their positions to cover him, meaning glory were left with 2 on 1 on the back post, and an uncontested header.
Only one angle I saw, didn't look particularly violent, couldn't even argue strongly that it was reckless.

I'm just stunned that we got a VAR decision....and that a HAL ref actually booked somebody for dissent.

So it turns out there’s actually a good chance we’ll have to get used to that for the rest of the season.
So the wooden spoon is still a clear option then.
There's something badly broken that we play that badly without Tom.

The squad is shit. Baro, Tom, maybe Wout, and DDS get a starting spot in ANY other team.

I never thought I find myself planning my weekend to avoid watching our team. I'll turn up for the rest of the season as a member, but will skip watching the away games if I can find something more rewarding to do. But beyond this season, who knows.

The sad thing is that individually, we've got some real players of quality. But the team approach is aweful.

Well I went to bed before the match started (just finished moving house and was buggered). I certainly didn't miss anything, and wasn't surprised to see the result in the morning.

Cost them 10-15k on an uneccessary move that won’t change anything, but will create additional bad blood and a good amount of ill will in the upper echelons of the football community.

I get your reasoning but in the clubs eyes I just can’t see it stacking up.

He'll see out the year I'd expect. Would be better for everyone involved if the decision was made now though. Okon either extends or agrees not to extend. If he doesn't at least we can start looking for a new manager now to take over when he leaves.
What this club needs most of all right now is hope (the fans mostly). Without it there won't be many renewals next year. With it and the support should remain.

We need a new ambitious and hard working coach who is prepared to both live on the coast and bring someone like Hutch or Monty in as their assistant. That way us fans can be assured that the team will be in no doubt of the club’s expectations. Right about now it feels as if there is zero accountability within the football department and that has to change.

Hutch and Monty have the quals I believe. We could do far worse. Like now.
Whether Hutch could be tempted back after the way he was treated is another story

If that's the way it goes, I'd rather see the club get an experienced coach and bring them in as assts to do a longer apprenticeship.

FP we don’t care about the football community opinions on us. Having fox not kick us while we are down due to Okon is actually annoying. He is not getting any of the scrutiny he deserves from the outside or the inside it feels

We need to care about our community and it’s being destroyed right now.

Another year of this will destroy the soul of the fans and the club

I missed the game due exhaustion catching up with me but from the sounds of things I didn`t miss much.
From all accounts though it was much of the same that we`ve seen all season.
As much as it runs against the grain with me it`s time to help Okon pack his bags so that he can move closer to home.(at the end of the season)
