Its time for change! We had nothing up front. Our strikers didn't have a shot all night. I like Matty but i think he needs a wake up call. Kwasnik runs around all night but does nothing. No one will agree with me but lets start with  Elrich  and Mrdja up front they can't do any worse than hat we have at the moment. Give Lewis another chance he was good last night. Travis played well. I think only 2 players are certain to play next week Danny and Travis. We need Doig back. Any news when this young welsh kid can play?

kwasaldinho? umm i sincerely hope thats a piss take, he was dross,

the way i see it, we played as well as we could with parts of our spine was missing no doig and weemac, and it showed badly, it was that decisiveness (doig) and that bit of wisdom (weemac with travis) that we so desperately needed, travis and simon worked their absolute nut off, NOTE to mrdja and kwas Pack your bags and F*** off home. so many chances could have been created if they had the passion to make the run

i personally think the back 2 thirds played reasonably well, melbourne owned the midfield
and the main difference was that they were clinical and decisive in their finishing, they were not 3 nil better than us.

the killers for us?
1 The ref, WAT ABSOLUTE DEADSH** OF A REF WAS THAT dare i say id rather breeze or stebre?
2 The ref
3 Kwas and Mrdja i am speechless, F*** i would sprint 90 minutes to earn the coin they do!
4 the flat footedness of our defence, at one point we had a dude surrounded 4 to 1 and and they stood there nothing.
5 pure bad luck, especially for vuks, was not his fault in the slightest that it was 3 nil.

we need to rebound next week, otherwise topsix is slipping quietly away

Basically we were shit last night.  We had a 5 minute spell at the end of the first half where we started to dominate but apart from that patch we were very ordinary.
Midfield was owned and defence was static and amatuerish.

Crap crowd as well and Marinators numbers looked well down especially at the back. But you blokes sang well ALL night especially at the front!!

Vuko 6.  Let in 3 but not really to blame.
Porter 4.  Worst RB in HAL.  Always on the wrong side of his player and can't tackle. Also gave the ball away alot.
Wilko 7.  Pretty solid but should have attempted to cut out cross on second goal.
Boogs 6.  Worst OG i've seen in years. Wrong side of his player a couple of times.
Heff 6.  Defensively useless but pretty good going forward.

All 4 defenders were guilty of ball watching and not closing down.  Tobin needs to practice cutting out crosses with all 4 off them but especially the fullbacks.

Travis 7.5.  MOM again.  Worked hard and had a decent game.
Hutch 6.  Ordinary.
Bojic  6.  Ordinary but worked harder than Hutch.
Lewis 6.5.  Not a bad effort.
Kwas 5.  Rubbish.
Simon 7.  Worked very hard and did pretty well.

Subs:
Elrich 6.5.  Shows some promise.
Disco 4.  What a gutless wanker.
Crowell 5.  Not on long enough to do much.

We are starting to struggle and need a strike partner for Simon NOW.  Hopefully WeeMac and Doig are back next week.
Probably a blessing in disguise if Heff and Hutch are suspended.  Pedj to leftback and Crowell defensive middie.
We need to sort out RB its a claring weakness.

Watching a different game to me on this one. He saved Boogs arse so many times.

The main difference between the teams was finishing, which we were crap at this week, and Matthew Kemp, who was by far MOM.

Lewis was rubbish (I'll be happy if he never plays again), Simon did NOTHING, Mrdja did even less, Elrich was chasing rainbows after being subbed on, Adelaide can have Poogs now and Jeff (or is it Heff?) will do better in the stands. Travis was outstanding, Bojic did well (2nd best on the night), Hutcho should have stayed on and Kwas was fouled out of the game.

We has more shots on goal but were unlucky.

I would really like to see us beat Melbourne at home once in my lifetime.

We lost that game 20mins before it started. During warmup the tards looked focused and intense the mariners were relaxed and casual. Those energys were the brought to the game by both teams. They came with a game plan and a point to prove. If Lewis plays again heff better do a better job of babysitting him in defense, they combined well going fwd but cost all 3 goals

just remember- this season we beat melbourne twice and lost to them once. Not a bad effort.

God knows how that was a 3-0 game. They shaded it with their finishing - but on balance of play there was no more than a goal in it.

Sorry but losing 3-0 to them at home is an appalling effort. People have to stop apologising for them. After their two big wins (Melbourne and Fury) the media took notice and started rating them a good chance. Maybe the players took too much notice of the media and thought it was just gonna happen. Their inability to score at home is really gonna start killing home crowds (more than it has already). We are badly in need of a good striker.

With a pisspoor crowd like that, we needed a win...

If we had another striker it may have made all the difference.  We had no trouble getting the ball to that end of the park for the entire 90min, it's just that once we got within 30m of the goals we seemed to have no idea what to do with it.  There appeared to be a decided lack of confidence, nobody was willing to take a shot.  Though there was also very little support, and a lot of players standing around picking their nose with their heels glued to the ground.

I though that even Simon was quiet tonight, I was hoping he'd muscle up on the  Victory whingers a bit more!

Clinical against NQF, only centimetres in it for Travis...
Vukovic, excellent game, well in control, concedes three goals LOL
Conceded possession first half yet created better chances, some good attacking with width from both full backs but owned on the left by Kemp.
Even at 0-1 I thought we wouldn't lose
Played better than we did against Perth
Matty Simon a real handful for Perth's triumvirate (thanks, Kimon) of thugs
Kwasnik, sadly, was pure Kwasnik
Travis booked for diving, says it all about his whingeing last night.
Mrdja, please don't play for us again; no heart for the contest
Elrich, I gave him the benefit against GC, but looked lost last night (what a pathetic header)
The good news is that Boogs and Heff won't be playing with us next year...

what game were you watching ? elrich looked most likely .as for heff he was one of the best .
travis tried and looked our best player .

not picking up a very fat "ham"andays (16) with 5 on 2 was reprehenisble.

The real issues we have (especially at home for some reason) are:

1) No communication at the back. Wilko is not and wont ever be a leader and organiser and it really showed again last night.

2) 50% of our back 4 are off to other clubs and it shows - Porter had 2 jobs to do (again) and Heff just bombs forward oblivious to whats around him.

3) We have no midfield general. Hutch tries to claim the role but it isnt happening.

4) Pedj in MF isnt working. He doesnt have the touch or passing skills required at this level. Crowell does so does Panni.

Matty's header goes in just before HT and its a different game, Travis doesnt miss an open goal and its a different game.

As for Mrdja. Go, just leave.

I'd like to see:

Danny
Pedj Wilko Doig Lewis
Travis Wee Mac Crowell Hutch
Matty and (good grief) Elrich right now

Please can somebody tell me what Mrdja done that was so bad. I seen him lose the ball near the box and chase the guy right back over half way so to all you guys who say he is lazy well that stuffs that. Yes he did lose the ball but so did Matty [plenty of times]. Matty is so overrated. He is a good player but skill level seen better down the local park.

Unfortunately I was there. mom Archie. (can we get him please.)
Worst performer of the night (and Krusty worse than Mrdja) was Lawrie. Without Doig we are useless at the back. his presence holds it all together so my point is why the hell did he not start with Crowell as the holder and allow hutch(who was ordinary) to work forward. Thats 2 wks on the bench might be something there.

I would say there might be another purge at year end. Coaching staff and players.
