Panni for Pedj is a no brainer really

or Hutch - got an absolute serve from lawrie when he was subbed

lewis was tiring badly and at total fault for the first goal - got sucked in and allowed the player out wide to get the cross in

we were hammered defensively on the left all night and an obvious tactic from ernie

Ohwell. Losing happens. Let's move on to next week.
Kudos to the front crew that kept up the positive singing even when were down 3-0.

That hurt.

But don't think 3 nil was an accurate reflection of the game all in all and thought Victory were far from their best. Also can't believe they don't get harangued about longball? f**k but again I'm reminded that the traveling MV fans make a goodly amount of noise. Definitely helps lift the victory.

As to the ref - abysmal... inconsistent, misses things and gets things just plain wrong... painful. The new Breeze?

But...

We are never going to consistently win games if the only player consistently willing to run at players and take them on is our left back...

Problem is...

MV's two first goals both also came through the self same left back position. There is no doubt as per last week, that Heff's forward inclination is leaving us vulnerable. Otherwise, he played a very good game... IF it wasn't for all three goals coming from down his side. Pretty big IF for a leftback - though he was not individually at fault for all three goals by any means.

In attack - Fact is, when Travis and or Weemac are running at and beating men, when they are not, we struggle to create.

We still had some chances - and Pedj should have set up one - and should absolutely have buried the second. Kwas had a good first half but seemed to run out of puff or just wasn't being found by link play. Travis was decent but not as involved as would have been ideal. Lewis again decent. Matty decent. Ahmad looks the sharpest he has been and hungry. Wilko and Porter solid...

Thats most of the squad... which is why I probably don't feel we were that awful. Just a truly awful result.

Anyhow... Done and dusted now.

As are any minor premiere aspirations. We are well off the pace now. Pity. Easily could have been right up there.

Realism...

Have to say that having gotten 24 points from first two thirds of the season/18 games - that based on what we have done so far, you'd think we should manage another twelve points.

Making our total 36 points. This would probably see us scrape into the six.

Optimism...

On the other hand. Undefeated for the rest of the season is still another 27 points up for grabs.
Our total would be 51 and would likely get us the plate.

I like option B ;)

As to crowds... 18 weeks into the season - and your team has only played an won one game at home... Can't expect crowds to gather much momentum.

I'd say we will still pull 7 + next week though. Seems this is pretty much the number of Mariners faithful.

Chin up... *sigh*

Always next week...

For once  ;)

Unlike those who sang 'we're so shit it's unbelievable', no wonder the players have ignored us for years

Tell Lawrie then coz according to his latest Tweet, its Hutch?

Kicking that water bottle when he got subbed was the only pass he hit right all night lol

I saw Doig after the game tonight and asked him in passing when he expects to be back. He said "hopefully next week". My fingers are crossed.

lawrie is mistaken

Rumours have it that it's actually his daughter that is doing it.

no, defintely lawrie

he was shown on fox towards the end of half time of his phone "tweeting"

As I said, a rumour lol.
Maybe this could be a reason for poor results. The gaffa is too busy tweeting.
That thing is updated way to much.

Who was the ref?  I missed it this week...

Pity Lewis let the first goal in, hopefully that won't hurt his confidence too much.  I'm excited to see what he's really capable of.

Apparently tackling is now outlawed from the game.

Some terrible decisions fron legitimate tackles.

. dare i say our reputation got the better of us again

What is he doing??? Danny would have saved that ball...

. boogs should have been in no doubt whose ball that was, unfortunately that was not the case. sadly a reflection of the night ... but hey, at least the kiddies won

Clinical against NQF, only centimetres in it for Travis...
Vukovic, excellent game, well in control, concedes three goals LOL
Conceded possession first half yet created better chances, some good attacking with width from both full backs but owned on the left by Kemp.
Even at 0-1 I thought we wouldn't lose
Played better than we did against Perth
Matty Simon a real handful for Perth's triumvirate (thanks, Kimon) of thugs
Kwasnik, sadly, was pure Kwasnik
Travis booked for diving, says it all about his whingeing last night.
Mrdja, please don't play for us again; no heart for the contest
Elrich, I gave him the benefit against GC, but looked lost last night (what a pathetic header)
The good news is that Boogs and Heff won't be playing with us next year...

from the reply it looked like the goal came from a lack of communication from danny

boogs thought that danny had it comfortably, heard no shout from Danny and lunged at the very last minute
