Round 12 - Adelaide v CCM @ Coopers (Boxing Day)

You'd think we were the ones up 1-0... There's just no f**king pressure in defence, letting them run across the entire pitch and STILL having to scramble in defence somehow :( WTF is going on?

We're turning into the f**king Jest at this point... Not a goal in 245 minutes+, Hoole being ineffective and Kennedy in goal (Although he's been a bit of a bright spot) :(

I can't remember the last time I saw Hoole pass the ball forward... And now the one time where his recently favored sideways pass would have given a chance, he turns it and walks it back in stead...

Idk what's with Hoole lately, lack on trust or something maybe wants all the glory for himself. Idk.

That was f**king abysmal... I'd almost rather have sat through some of the Walmsley shit than that second half... To have such promise wafted in front of us at the start of the season only to drop to this sort of shit... Where was the intensity? Paine and Appiah tried to get everyone going after the Adelaide goal, but there were just no takers and no urgency... Much as I love him that shit pass from Hiariej to Golec that he ended up having to recover, pretty much sums up this whole game... Lazy passing and a complete lack of sense of where each other were...

Poor game and very bad execution by us.

Very few positives.

Baro was easily our MOM. Roux played reasonably well. We look over coached......no pace in attack, pass back when a simple forward ball is on. We are becoming a dumb team.
Also a brickbat against the coaching team in the way we don't track back in defence and don't pressure the attacking side when they drive forward towards the box.
Rowles looks a better player than Josh although his brilliant clearance off the line kept us in the game.

How good did Adelaides RB look for a kid!?

Good to see Eggy and a few other yellows at the game.

Jets fans said he’s s preseason specialist.

If only DDS was where he was. Run forward and you have two feet not one

Such a perfect statement. Also predicable. Adelaide knew what was coming and never looked stressed.

Our structure relies on fast movement and when you keep going back to hold the ball for possession sake the other team just blocks all paths to goal. AU were excellent at getting back and turning us back.

Just throw a couple of crosses in to scare them.

There goal was a peach but something you will never see from us

We're a good well drilled passing side and we defend well now for the most part, but we're toothless in attack. Maybe an aspect of Okon's coaching that needs to improve. For the positions we get in we really lack cohesion and manage to make a lot of poor choices and kill off our own attacks.

Trent wasn't on long I know, and I want him to be awesome, but he hasn't looked HAL standard in the last few games imo. I would expect any forward in almost any division to bury that header. Adsrubal's 25 did not win me over. Nor Pain's 75... We need a true striker.

Playing DDS deep was an interesting way to try and win back our midfield, it worked to a large degree but he looked frustrated and we lost something.

If we're going to play Tiki Taka has to be faster and we have to start running at men and beating them in the final third – I'm fine with going backwards but you can't just always reset because there's a man in front of you. We skip past so many players in the first two thirds but we need to do it where it counts and we need to decide if and when we're a fast counter attacking side and if and when we want to build up play and given that allows the oppositions defence time to be set up... how are we going to break them down. Because at the moment we look clueless, and the approach seems to be just move the ball around and hope something opens up. It's not enough.

Frustrating.

Trent was lazy on his jump. Needed and easily could have got over that ball.
Great cross from Rowles on it.

Pain hit his straight at Izzo

Okon needs to light a fire under most of the forwards imho, I am beginning to think that there simply isn’t enough intensity in our training regime, or enough genuine competition for places in the front positions. The likes of Hoole and Pain need to discover the feel of some pine on their buttocks for mine but Okon just keeps playing them week after week regardless.

Hoole is too selfish and Pain not influential enough, so they both need to be made aware of that. DDS as a No.6 didn’t work for me, as he had to do too much of what is not his natural game. Credit to the lad for giving it his best shot but what a waste of his talents. Hoole should have been sacrificed for Rosebud in this game, in order to allow Danny to play as the No.10.

Unfortunately, that Game played out exactly as I saw it in my mind’s eye and three losses on the bounce will do nothing for the boy’s confidence going into the NYE game. Thank goodness we play the Nux and not Sydney or the Jest! :(

. Okon has done some weird shit ... but DDS as defensive midfielder ... umm, WTF?

. he offered nothing that Rosebud couldn't - but we lost a lot by swapping Danny out for Hoole in the middle ... and there was an increased risk of Danny getting injured

. this was only compounded by Hiariej - we can't afford to be without him for a couple of weeks ever again ... because I reckon he only hit about two passes all night
