ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

he looked good in the NPL . but he's gunna get pressure playing out .
we could get some more ugly games yet . although if tappy can stay fit he'll have some cover.
Seemed like Jacko had a plan for that in keeping it simple and saying go long. A few were to no one but it’s much safer when the ball is 50m downfield.

When hit them low one flick is going to get us through a few times.

However when it was a contest we lost there was a massive whole between Ed and Koul and the midfield.

He Is really good on corners with his height although was blocked well by Victory last night.

He will go alright i think

Seems pretty 50/50 opinions on alou here. I will say, his energy in pressing is always welcomed. But he is a striker, he cannot fill any other position. We need goals from him (and big Eddy).
I've just got this feeling that both of them will hit the straps their pedigree deserves this season after underwhelming last year (that said, they each rose to it at a time that secured two out of the three trophies). It'll be interesting to see if Jacko sticks with them together up front - last year it was more one on for the other but I expect to see them both on the teamsheet for a while to come.

I think a spell on the bench could motivate them to push on and score. They both know they'll play at the moment cos they're our only strikers.

Kuol as a lone striker. He has pace and gives us an option to go long against teams that try to press
Id have MDP (when fit) or Doka in behind him.
Edmo bench at best

Just finished watching the replay of our game. Happy to stick with my original analysis.
The thing I will agree with Wombat is not to try Doka as a #10. I made that call in frustration at the lack of creativity in our attacking third.

Jacko set the team up to take advantage of Peraic-Cullen's long balls to two big strikers along with high crosses looking for heads.
We definitely need someone who can fill Nizzy's role when he played as a #10 with a lone striker alongside. Neither Kuol nor Edmo are what you would call creative. One of them can be the tall muscle but we definitely need some touch to have the option of attacking up the middle with the ball on the ground.
McCallum looks to be growing into Ballards spot in organising from the DM spot and Steeley is an adequate replacement for Tappy when required.
It will be interesting to see how Jacko deals with this in our game against Adelaide. Maybe some more trials in the next Asian cup game.
