he was forever in my hate book last season when we won 3-0 and he just whined at the press conference about how we are a bunch of hackers, don't play the game in the right spirit and how they were the only team out there trying to play football

If you are talking about Culina - right on brother!

If you are talking about Thwaite - I'd still be happy to have him in our defensive armoury.

I hope we beat them and beat them well ... as for side show bob and his comments last year what a prick he is ... and as for Fat Tony .... well he is a Con but with no football passion...

Thwaite's a former Sydney Uni boy. Anyhoo...

I'd not be as worried about him as f**king Pantelidis. Complete bellend he is. Good for roughly three cautionable offences per game I reckon.

Mariners to win 2-1.

Agree about Pantelidis, absolute nut job and obviously under instructions from Miron to try break as many legs as he feels like. Interestingly though, it was Caravella doing the rough stuff with Burns last week against Perth and Pantelidis kept his nose clean for once.

it's a tough game for us, I thought Gold Coast were pretty good against Perth. 1-0 to us, McBreen another header. I don't rate Miron as a coach and GA will out do him tactically. Griffiths to shut out Cullina and therefore no avenue for them to score.

"it was Caravella doing the rough stuff with Burns last week against Perth."

I actually thought it was Burns doing the rough stuff with whoever he could get near. Very surprised he wasn't carded for his "tackle" (aka "leg breaker") against Traore.

I thought Traore was pretty good. He could be dangerous for us if he puts in the same effort.

One of these days the refs will wake up to Fallover Boy and book him for simulation, can hardly wait.

Pantelidis has been a bit subdued in the early rounds. He reminds me a bit of Tiatto the season after he got red carded in the semi against adelaide. He's trying to keep a lid on things but for players like them that "natural aggression" is a big part of their game.

Decent article about Rostyn Griffiths in smh today http://www.smh.com.au/sport/a-league/the-drifting-has-finally-ended-for-mariner-griffiths-20100916-15eqd.html

I had no idea he knocked back a place in the Welsh national team to try and play for Australia ... I knew of the story but not that Rostyn Griffiths was the player ...

game day a great chance for us to cement 2 place with a good win today. I would like to see perez come off the bench at around the 60min mark. No need to rush him into the starting side if things are going good keep him fresh they will be out to butcher him because they know how good he is. Come on mariners please keep winning starting to get use of the winning feeling its been a while.
