Its coast vs coast both teams coming off wins from round 6

Mariners will be boosted by the return of Perez

Gold Coast will be looking to move into the top 6 by making it back to back wins

My prediction is 3-1 to us.

Simon to score the opener followed by a Perez Double

Djite to score a late goal for Gold Coast

The little team that should not just keep doing it. Next week the Gold Coast (Footballs new bling team) will find out about it as well.

As is every year most predicted the Mariners to make up the bottom of the competition and maybe claim the wooden spoon. We have a new team under a new coach. We have 12 new players in the team, and have 17 of the 23 man squad under 25 with 7 under 21. The last three weeks with three under 21 year olds on the field.

I honestly believe we gave the best defence in the league and arguably the best midfield. Up front we struggle a tad. Arnold has got himself a pint sized midfield aside from our new Jedi in Rostyn Griffiths.

With Perez back next week weeMac on the right backed up by Griffiths I think the Mariners just may smack the Fold Coast opps Gold Coast.

Olly and Rose are combining excellently down the left side and weeMac & Pedj are starting to come into their own down the right, with Perez will push through the centre. My mouth is watering already as the Bling and their owners crumble under a Mariner onslaught.

The words of Marc Bolan from T-Rex come to mind..”Get it on, Back a gong”. As the GA revolution marches on …….. like another T-Rex classic … “Children of the Revolution “, the GA revolution that is.

Bozanic will be unavailable due to Olyroo commitments. Also means James Brown and Tahj Minniecon are out for GCU.

Straight swap of Ollie for hutch and pereZ will slot into AM. Mariners 3-2 Gcu.

Djite won't trouble dutchy who will be all over him, expect same bench with maybe mrdja on at half time, Simon is on thin ice with arnie

Really hope we put on a good performance this weekend. With a new coach, 12 new players and Perez coming back this should be possible.

Over the years the Mariners have reached this level of confidence before and lost their way.(barr season 3).

I hope Arnie can keep some belief in the team.
1-1 all this weekend
Dutchy and culina

Even S3 we lost our way only falling into the premiership. We claimed it, we didn't win it.

New coach, lets hope the slumps are finished with and we will play untill the end of the season

the slumps are a mental thing obviously LM failed to overcome, or perhaps conditioning them too hard too early - or both

new coach, new methods, time will tell

as for v3, as great as the premiership was, i thought it was the worst season in terms of quality of football - last season and so far this season especially is alot higher quality imo

subs should be some of the youth
ibni isei
brady
lewis etc

They will be playing just before in the NYL game down the road at Southport

1. Lewis isn't match fit.
2. Bennie is match fit (Blacktown) but has the NYL game
3. Brady is fit but looked poor at the NYL trial last Sunday.

I'd swap Kwasnik & Perez & put simon in behind to frustrate (kick) the shit out of Culina. Nil all at the 65m mark and then unleash Perez.

Out of interest does anyone know Kwasnik's favoured position. I'm sure I've seen him play quite well in that LM position especially when he's allowed to cut back onto his right.

Yep. I'd be happy with that side.

I really doubt Perez will start this one.

He is way underdone and would be effective coming off the bench later in the game after we touch Gold Coast up early.

Otherwise wankers like Thwaite might prey on him early.

Yeah thwaite was my concern too. He puts in a lot of tough challenges but seems to get away with a bit more because of his super gay smile.

Can't say I've ever noticed Thwaite's super gay style, but I can see Perez being the target of the thugs/hardmen of the league.

Will be interesting to see how much Jason Culina is allowed to get away with as well.

It just annoys me when he's just axed someone & gets up grinning like a cheshire cat or even worse when he tries to drag his opponent to their feet because he reckons they're faking.

he was forever in my hate book last season when we won 3-0 and he just whined at the press conference about how we are a bunch of hackers, don't play the game in the right spirit and how they were the only team out there trying to play football
