ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Not sure if the club submits this or it's something fox sports comes up with

that 3rd goal was clearly out, very bad decision there

i hope we get smacked 5 nil. need a wake up call. one good half a game all season (against Sydney) is not good enough

I think we're talking a cm at most even if it was, almost impossible to spot from the other side of the goals - though the ball 'looks' out long before it actually is out from that sort of angle. No, it was stupid stuff - and I'd be saying that had it gone in our favour.

Playing like wooden spooners today, absolutely appalling.

I dont think anyone can get upset about or nitpick about the 3rd goal. We were 2-0 down already, damage already done.

Man our attack is one-dimensional....hit the guy running in from the left.

Poorly disciplined tonight as well. We need a big loss after a performance like this.

Well that was absolute rubbish.

Moss better rip into every single one of them tonight, and give an extra serve to Reddy - trying to be smart will trip you up eventually.

1) Adelaide deserved winners - they were clearly the better side but

2) we played badly
3) 2 clear misses by out Golden Boot
4) by the time we has committed 4 fouls we had 3 yellow cards - wtf?
5) 3 times we were called back when we were through on goal with no advantage played.
6) 3rd goal wrong call - though I can't blame the linesman it was so tight.

Hopefully we won't have the same situation where 2 - 6 all happen again. We have played badly and won or drawn this season - but everything went against us today. So - given all that I'll take my licks and hope that combination of events doesn't happen again.

Mossy needs to earn his stripes after that performance. A lot of work to do this week to turn us around by Thursday.

Loss of focus and discipline after Djites flukey goal was a bit worrying. Loss of GA means confidence is pretty important and more fragile this year and you'd worry, "is Moss good enough?" might become the elephant in the change room very quickly. And a pretty destructive elephant at that.

On the park, to me it seems very clear what is happening, but I'm not sure what the answer is (or if others will agree). Very interested in others thoughts.

Last week we played some excellent football, but SFC were poor and it was the FIRST time a team this season did not seriously press us at all. Nor were they quite as physical as the other teams that have played us this year. (We've been getting hacked) Today it looked like Adelaide out numbered us 2 -1. And imo we are simply not coping with the aggressive pressing AUFC and other teams are employing against us and are repeatedly coughing up the ball in a dangerous positions and exposing our defence. A defence that relies on it''s structure. The benefit of withdrawing into our lines and staying compressed and organised is that we are hard to break down. But teams don't need to play through our organised lines all that much anymore. They just need to run at us while we try and knock it around, till we cough it up and then it us while our shape is poor. In turn, we don't press, and so opposition teams rarely lose the ball in their own third/dangerous areas and when needed, can usually knock it around at the back at leisure, easing their nerves after a bad spell or controlling and dictating the pace and rhythm if desired, unless someone bothers to join our lone strikers - in their all but pointless solo pressing efforts.

Horrible to watch.

What do we do? Change our system? Simply practice our tight passing game more with increased pressure? I actually think even today we played some very skilful one touch football to try and get through the pressing at times. But we are not Barca, and it's a shit load easier to run and press the other team, than it is to maintain possession under high pressure...

I think at the moment, we are an easy team to play tactically. Really, Roar always did it to us, and it's almost ludicrous that it's taken the other teams this long to cotton on.

I doubt we'll see the other teams changing these tactics against us anytime soon. Apart from SFC who'd be writing off last week as a shocker, they would each feel they had the better of us to a reasonable degree, and I'd argue that is 90% to do with the same high tempo pressing and little else.

FP, pretty accurate mate.
We simply don't press and we are very slow to close down defensively.
Our decision making in the final third is amatuerish.
Today two of our best...reddy and tesco both had shockers and the result was we got tonked.
Also today none of the subs improve the situation.

Yeah I think that's equally true of Tesco and Reddy - and Danny too had a shocker. But even if they play well, this tactical/style issue will still remain I think.
How does Mossy fix it?
