Not a great performance as everyone is in agreement of. We always start the season slow and this year i think with all the changes (including Wee Mac and Storms WC duties, Mossy coming in, JP and Reddy swapping over)we will not click till around the 10 game mark. We have the players, of that i am sure. The positives are we are still in the hunt with a game in hand, Reddy has been great last 3 games. Loved his sweepers clearance in the 2nd half, made his mind up very early, determined and confident. The defence feeds off a confident keeper.
Sainsbury had a fantastic game, Storm has developed very quickly...looks the goods, quality.
Monty has been solid every game, needs to start. Liked the look of Caceres, he faded a bit but that is understandable given his lack of 90 minute football at this level. Keep him going.Obviously we are just not quite gelling....one thing that is noticeable for me is that we are just not creating chances. When we do we will hammer someone, hopefully it starts with Sydney next week. :)

Simon - While he has the touch of a brick wall he is getting absolutely bugger all service. Apart from root one to his head or chest (then no one to back him up & collect the ball) around at least 2 defenders. He is getting absolutely nothing from the AM or DM that he can work with. It's not like his having shots & putting them into Iguana's - I reckon he'd be lucky to have had 5 shots all year.

The attacking problems seem to be the attackers are all facing the wrong way or are looking for a through ball but don't know when it will be hit to make there run. Also they are hesitant to go & are flat footed with the defensive line giving the defense a better chance to catch up or intercept.

Flores is fantastic as using his body to collect the ball but is facing our own goals, this would be ok if the midfielders where there for him to lay it off to so they could hit a through ball but he is one out to much with 2 blokes on his ankles.

Think Duke needs to go back to the front of the line. Simon as a sub to bring energy when defense tired & I'd bring Fitzy on to the right wing where he tore up Adelaide.

As for McBreen I don't know unless we change the formation to 2 strikes

Storm is going to be a good player but still very raw. Needs some work on the attacking end. Him & Duke not sure what each other is doing. Storm has had a cracking start for such an inexperienced player.

The defense definitely looks better - As stated under pressure more due to turnovers than bad positioning.

Pretty ordinary game but with a high flying SFC coming to town maybe we just need to be the under dog again.

Sainsbury - Just a class above

Caceras - Back to the bench - People wanted to check out what it was like not having Monty & Hutch together (me inlcuded) - But I prefer Hutch & Monty

Something that worried me - we had four shots in total. Four.

None on target.

We've been doing that all year. We just can't seen to even get in a decent spot. Flores provides this good service but nobody is moving into position and all our shots are from afar. We've got all this attacking potential but it gets us f**king naught.

Didn't we have a header on target? Yep, is right though. We are just not creating much and it's suprising given the attacking talent we have. Last couple of seasons we had games were we must have had a dozen clear chances and only scored one. That wasn't such a worry though as eventually you know they'll start going in. Kwassie is scoring in the Youth. :)

Problem solved. Bring Kwassie to the first team.

Seriously though, if I were Mossy I'd start experimenting a bit more with attacking options. We're not getting anywhere at the moment, why not try three up front or something silly. I dunno. Just a crazy thought: Kwassy, Duke, Danny up front, Flores, Caceres, Monty in the middle.

Because we are too defensive minded. We play with one isolated striker. We don't support the player with the ball. We sit too deep and most importantly we have no grunt through the middle of the park.
Players have to make things happen....Flores receives little support or options. Monty and WeeMac are the only two with any gumption.
