If Monty is unfit then I'd guess we would go 2 up front, start Mile on the left, Mikey on the right & Hutch as the lone Do. Then go really hard at them for a lead, & have the smallest possible space in between the front & back line while defending
If Monty is unfit then young Anthony in, if not same as last week. I would like to see Caceres get a start though in place of Hutch (sorry) and switch Dukey and Matty. Game on, can't wait for this one.

Milligan is their man & they are short in defence. 2 up front will draw Milligan back & the short space in between will reduce his influence. They will then pump balls over the top to Thompson or who ever is on the left trying to spring the offside. We don't need 2 DM's to counter that.
If Cacearas does play then I would hope that we invert the triangle in the mids & play him next to/just behind Flores.

Covers an interesting point about player behaviour & that mossy never got to close to the players like most 2IC's because he was always part of the plan to be No. 1.

Talks about settling disputes behind closed doors e.g. give some arm waving from players on the field settled out the back (Hello Fitzy & Flores - That's you) in relation to Troisi getting the shits with Muscat for taking him off.

Just been very overcast & drizzle on & off in Hornsby I mean on the southern Central Coast (the best part of the takeover is they don't even know we've done it).

the positives-
* the last ten minutes with McBreen, Sterj and Monty on looked like we had teeth and were finally a chance to score
* we didn't concede a goal or lose
* Reddy played well and saved our bacon
* Roux showed his talent and is going to prove a standout

the rest of the game-
* couldn't string a pass together, turned it over pretty much constantly all game
* still next to no cohesion or understanding
* looked very flat and energyless

agreed - about the worst game I've seen from the team in years

next week we need to start with the 11 who finished this game except Flores on for Sterj who needs come on as sub. the experience of these 3 was extremely valuable. McBreen may turn out to be the lynchpin, he hussled effectively and with a full game I think might have scored. consider Fitzy on the bench again.

I genuinely do think that once we click this team will shred other teams. seems a little way off is all

Mossy made a valid point in his post-match interview. He needs to sharpen up his decision making skills. For 3 years he has been in the relatively comfortable position of being able to make suggestions to Arnie, but never having to make the final decision. Now the buck stops with him, so he has to learn to trust his instincts and judgment. That may take a little time. Whilst the performance tonight was abysmal, I think we should cop the draw and thank out lucky stars we got a point - especially in this transition phase.

I'd stick with Flores it's just a matter of the team building understanding.
imagine McGlinchey, Flores, McBreen and Duke in full flight when they know each other inside and out, going to be exciting stuff. but they need game time to get there.

I think I'm happy to see this as a rebuilding season with a grand final defence as the goal and not worry too much about the premiership. thus building performances and team cohesion becomes more important than wins, as long as we win enough to be in the finals of course

I brought a friend a ticket and was shocked to be charged $26.....I was thinking about asking for a refund after that shite.

I thought we were fairly good for the first 15mins but once they got into the game they dominated us and had an easy night. Thankfully they butchered plenty of chances and Reddy was good again.

It's amazing to see a team play 90 minutes and create so few chances. I agree with GrA that once Monty and macca and sterj came on we looked decent again.

I was also shocked that we were so slow to close down Victory players in dangerous positions....talk about playing with fire.

Reddy 7.5. Good game. Distribution was good and made a crucial save.
Rose 6. Not very composed tonight.
Storm 7.5 Looked quality again but could still tighten up defensively a tad.
Tesco 7.5. Some Norman Hunter style tackles tonight that I really enjoyed.
Griffiths 7. Good again and one outstanding block.
WeeMac 7.5. Frustrating game. Looked lively and one of our only players with required skill level but also gave the ball away a few times
Hutcho 7. Better work rate than last week and was solid if uninspiring.
Caceras 7. Looked good early but faded.
Duke 6.5. Mixed bag.
Flores 6.5. Not at his best but showed glimpses of his great talent.
Simon 6.5. Touch and sharpness not 100%.

All subs were better than the player they replaced.

Yellow Army were outstanding as was the left hand stand (western?).

Diabolical, just diabolical.

An appropriate end to what has been a shit couple of weeks for CCM.

The only positive in the game was the Tards inability to take a game that was presented to them time and time again.

Disagree with you a lot today Wombat.

Reddy 7.5. Good game. Distribution was good and made a crucial save. (Good game 8)
Rose 6. Not very composed tonight. (thoroughly decomposed 5)
Storm 7.5 Looked quality again but could still tighten up defensively a tad. (ok)
Tesco 7.5. Some Norman Hunter style tackles tonight that I really enjoyed. (Mom, great tackling, skillful yellow 8)
Griffiths 7. Good again and one outstanding block. (couple of howlers but still good 7)
WeeMac 7.5. Frustrating game. Looked lively and one of our only players with required skill level but also gave the ball away a few times (on his scale 7, always takes 3 or 4 touches when often 1 or 2 will do, if he could get his head up more he would be world class and playing in a top league)
Hutcho 7. Better work rate than last week and was solid if uninspiring. (ok)
Caceras 7. Looked good early but faded. (early? First couple of minutes, if he is going to be a DM he has to defend, not even a speed bump. Either he is not up to this level or DM is not his position 5)
Duke 6.5. Mixed bag. (he is a front man striker, not a winger, ok)
Flores 6.5. Not at his best but showed glimpses of his great talent. (harsh, tried hard, won plenty of balls, but had no options, on a different wavelength to the rest of the team 7)
Simon 6.5. Touch and sharpness not 100%. (Frightening how far he has gone backwards since he left, appears to have lost a lot of pace and skills. Hopefully he can rebuild. 5)

All subs were better than the player they replaced. Mc Breen was like a breath of fresh air when he came on, organised and got back between the defensive lines, caused them strife, must start next week. Monty made an immediate difference, should have been brought on at half time to strengthen the midfield.

So far this season we have dodged more than our fair share of bullets. Results will soon start to reflect the on field performances. Hope it is not next week.:(

Yellow Army were outstanding as was the left hand stand (western?).

Just wondering how you arrived at those notes (if they're supposed to be out of 10)
To me they were all below par except Reddy.

For most of the time I felt like I was in a bad dream. Judging by the constant groaning from people around me it seems that I was not the only one who felt that way. All up an embarrassing display (individually and as a team) by last year's champions.

With the way that we played they should be giving us $26 just 4 turning up

Guy's, in all seriousness, couldn't you have chanted something different than what every other club is chanting. To hear "we sing for yellow" was bad enough but then to bust out tetris! Surely you can be more original. And go on, claim you started 'who do we sing for' even though no one has heard you sing it for years.
Don't wanna start a furore but I'm quite sure you have enough talented people to come up with some original chants. FWIW though, I loved hearing the trumpet and drums. Much better.
