ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

And those who don't slag Bay 16? They don't deserve to be portrayed by anyone as not "real" fans or that active fans are "better than them".

On a related note, people who passionately support their club, regardless of their position in the stadium, can feel frustrated or upset by anyone slagging off the club. Its their right to express that - just as it's Bay 16's right to sing what they sing in the first place.

I never said you weren't real fans.
I don't sit in bay 16 anymore either.
I'm just not going to sit back and listen to people slag bay 16.
If you can do better....get off your arse and help them.
They are solid support and get my respect.

Screw that Wombat. I've spent a lot of time in Bay 16 in good years and bad. The specific reason I can't be f**ked with it these days is the shit that gets sung in there.

Last season and this there has been a shitload of belting the team rather than supporting.

"Let's pretend we've scored a goal"?

"We're so shit it's unbelievable"?

"We want Tony out"?

FFS. Sack yourselves.

People can say "they've paid their money, they can sing what they want"; I've been paying my money too and pitching in to support shit like that is thankfully not compulsory.

Better to remain silent.

And then there's the band. For example, we've always been bad at "shalalalalalala", presumably because we can collectively learn only one line of a four line tune. It just drones. It's been that way for the 8 or do years we've tried to do it.

But the band not only doesn't help, it highjacked the whole thing to put a trumpet solo in. f**k that. It's ridiculous.

Call me when there's actual support. In the meantime I'll be on the sidelines.

For me, it's piss weak for anyone in the prawn sandwich seats or anyone else in the stadium that doesn't sing to slag off Bay 16.
Fair play...that they sung were so shit its unbelievable...it was true!
I like truth.
They are better supporters than the rest of you!!!!!!!!!
You may pay more for your seats......but they are the real fans.

They are what we are judged on by the Foxsports and all the other clubs.

Eggy, PP, etc get my support before Tony and MC.

This is not directed at you SC but im shitty about the softcocks (obviously not you SC!) that snipe from the sidelines but maybe offer a clap clap clap once a year.
I've read some insulting things on this forum... but this takes the cake!

I have sung myself hoarse in Bay 16 in the early years and supported the early supporter groups in their endeavours, I have helped at Club functions in year 1 before many of Bay 16 were even members, I have defended the club continuously against doomsayers who are "not renewing next year If ...".

DO NOT refer to me and others like me as any less of a supporter because I prefer to be able to see the game from good seats.

You are just being divisive at a time when it is not needed.

I'm not going to attack the booing. One of the jobs of active support is to be rowdily mischievous. It's them carrying on like pork chops when the rest of us sit in silence with our hearts in our boots. It's them pointing to the elephant in the room - we ARE unbelievably shit. It's them giving shit to the opposition in a way that would have them Jeremy Clarkson in any other context.
In this game we had a chance, if we could just lift a notch, to salvage a micron of pride from the worst season's performance in the entire history of the comp.
A draw, even to concede less than 3, was a dream worth believing, and it took 39 seconds for the team to not only destroy it, but to hold us up to ridicule in the process. The emotional impact of that on 30 or 40 quite pissed young blokes suffering the worst view in the stadium is intense.
So, booing.
As to how: I honestly think Tony lost the team that day. I speculate that they saw Tony put Ascroft at RB and and spat the dummy. Monty played too high, and Izzo ran disastrously to cover him in the first play. We might as well have painted Goals This Way on the grass in front of Bay 9.
It took them til 46' to get real.
I'm happy for Tony to have another go but he has to change. I said at the start of the season that clean sheets = points. Until we get that right we're f**ked.

The team has been booed before and nobody complained on here.
The fans chanted for 'Moss Out' and nobody complained on here.
Booing makes a comment to the club as well as the players. Maybe it's unfortunate that players are busting their gut on the field but just don't have the support, training or roster to supplement those efforts, but if they get sick of the booing they'll feed that back to TW who will feed that back to the club. It's the fans telling the club that they're not happy.

I don't think booing the club and sticking by the club are necessarily mutually exclusive. After all, they have to turn up to boo, don't they?

As for the whole 'bay 16' bit - the notion that people who are just turning up to watch is the biggest load of garbage I've ever heard. That sort of attitude might fly in an Ultras facebook page full of 15 year olds, but it's just plain daft. I don't care if somebody only sits on their seats - if you're doing your best to support the team in whatever capacity you can and are comfortable with, then you're a real fan.

Bay 16 are making themselves heard. Or trying to. By virtue of that everybody at the stadium absolutely has the right to have an opinion on what they're doing/saying. Everybody at the ground has a vested interest in the club, the atmosphere and what happens at the game so has the right to comment on everything there - and that vested interest includes the right to criticise the active supporters bay. Being an active supporter carries responsibility.

The bay is trying to make themselves heard across the entire stadium. You don't get to try to make everybody hear you yet not want anybody else to have an opinion. You can't have it both ways.

Personally, I still miss the glory days of Season 2/3 when the 'Marinators' bay was just absolute fun before all of the infighting and 'nah, that song's not Euro enough' killed it. Maybe one day we'll have a decently filled Bay 16 again. It's a shame to see how small our active support has come despite increasing crowds. I wouldn't even know who's in that bay - although most of you probably wouldn't know me anyway, despite being in Bay 16 since day 1 and leaving every game with no voice :p

Personally though, I do like the band - though I'm glad that they play something other than Tetris now :D I don't have a problem with the fact that the club supplies them either.

It's not true that nobody complained on here. I remember complaining at the time. The reason I don't go to Bay 16 is because of that bullshit. I remember telling Eggy directly at Sydney away last season that he wouldn't see me in the bay if that's the shit they're going to serve up. And I posted this in the 'Moss out' thread last year after Moss was sacked.

The cheering and self-congratulation from some 'supporters' on social media is nearly enough to make me spew.

At no point has singing "Moss out" or posting snarky tweets hashtagged with #MossOut done a f**king thing to help the club in any way.

'Supporters' have instead been doing their best to convince anyone who would listen that the team's not worth watching and that the club's going backwards. Maybe they think that's what 'real' supporters do in 'proper' football clubs, but I think it's shit. The atmosphere in the active 'support' has been toxic at best, and I for one have withdrawn from it. I'm not sure I'll bother going back if this lot continue to pat themselves on the back as if they've done something good rather than what they have done - piss on the club and its people for months on end.

Obviously didnt take enough notice in those yester-years as to who was sitting around you in Bay16.

There's still quite a few of us Marinators still there [/QUOTE]

^^^ THIS !!!!! FMD.

His constant 'riffing' ? Shoot me in the fcuking head .......puh-leeease. !!!

Makes me feel like I'm on Bourbon St, New Orleans USA, time-machined onto the set of the TV show 'Treme'.

'Tetris' - has the sound of the 1980 Moscow Olympics, we just need Mitch Chivers back as 'Bear' in a suit attached to a chain & dancing with a few kick-arse cossack's thrown in, to round it all of.

The band needs to be severely paired back to just
x1 tuba,
x1 trumpet (who's reined in)
x1 horn,
x1 snare drum
& Jimmy. :p

THAT'S IT.

The BAND (should) = Accompaniment & Timing.
NOT take-over and 'drown-out'.

Otherwise it's just .......

Finally. Something we can agree on. The band can just f**k off. For good

Not totally, as I said above - they just need to be paired back in size.

3 on the brass, a snare drum & Jimmy on the mid- tom.

Common sense tells you,
the less there are of the band ........
the more you'll hear of Bay16 (especially with its dwindling #'s).

BUT most definitely the Trumpeter needs to be reined in.
Accompanient NOT showboating.
Pleeeeeeeease. !!!
