Oh I didn't see that :-( that sounds pretty scummy

I did like how he was called out on the Fenerbache shirt though ;-)

Actually, I don't understand why the Galatasserai thing was relevant anyway. One thing is calling him out on wearing or colours. But keep it to the relevant teams when you call people out eh? :)

The jersey was actually yellow & blue. Also there was a pretty good turnout in the away bay.

I think it was fairly obvious that there was a bit of experimenting in the line up - which we've all asked for. Worth bearing that in mind.
Think we've gotten what we'll get out of Garcia but sheesh young Rose looks the goods.

That was probably our worst performance of the year.
Our midfield is completely lost without Monty.
Liam Rose is a lazy player, in fact only Posco and Roy have any guts about their play. We are very soft physically....maybe it's the 37 red cards this year?
We are badly coached. Tony needs to move upstairs and Hutcho needs to be assistant coach in Yoof to learn the basics. Both good men but so clearly out of their depth.....because they definately ain't Clough and Taylor.
Their 1st goal we just trot around in midfield oblivious to any unmarked players.
2nd goal...same story. both Rose's don't pick up. Stella doesn't cut out the pass. 4 or 5 players get mugged by Castelan and Posco slow to react.
3rd Goal....Posco out Stormed Storm. Complete ball watching.
4th Goal.....soft defending all round.

On the positive side.

Pearce looked reasonable.
McGing and Micky Neill tried hard (as did Posco but he wasn't great defensively)
Garcia did some good things and scored nice header.
Austin went ok and lovely cross for the goal.

No he doesn't. He is good on the ball but he can't tackle and doesn't pick up. He was a liability tonight IMHO.
Only Austin and Roy would be in my starting 11 next season as well as Fab when he finally came on.
Rosebud will be a good player in a couple of seasons time.

Big patch of the first half where we were clearly the better side.

so often it's lost all meaning. Change the record.

Monty and Rose are different players. Monty is tougher, Rose is vastly more creative. I think Monty's time is coming to an end while Rose's is just beginning, but he needs some muscle alongside and a dose of discipline without the ball.

Anyone who knows how to pick up a free man gets a starting shirt next week too.

Wow....I've got to get some of those Yellow coloured glasses. Did your old hero Mossy give them to you?
drive boys had 65% possession and more than 20 balls into the box to our 3 in the first half.
They looked like they would score at any moment.
What are you on?

What does Rose create?
He is more skilled than Monty but I can only remember one assist from him all year.
Monty is very effective. Liam, while he has great potential, is not.

Fraudsley on Fox being asked by Rudan what he would have done differently if there was relegation. Said he would have built the team from the back.

Unconvincing is being kind.

TW:
"Yeah its, er funny, we've done a big review the last couple of weeks and its a very valid question.

If you're in a relegation dogfight you do things differently from the start, if you're in a League were there's relegation you do things differently from the start.

The reality is Rude's, for us .... with Adam Pearce making his debut today- he's an 18yo GK from our Youth Team, he's the 5th GK we've used & the 16th player to make his debut this season.

So there are many reasons why we are where we are, um and there's an indicator there about the instability- how much instability there has been, which reflects the results we've had.

But to answer your question, succinctly, we would of gone back-to- front NOT front-to-back. We went out with a very pro-active attacking playing style, got some bad results early on ..... confidence was affected, lots of changes in personnel & we've ended up where we are.

In reality, if your going to get relegated at the end of the season, you set your defence out so that you don't lose games & you build from there.

We didn't do that"

Above is a screenshot of my telly as soon as TW finished off with the "We didn't do that", throwing back to Adam Peacock.

The tightly pursed lips of Rudan, a defender and Coach himself & and the look on his face said it all for me.

Moss just gazed straight down the barrel of the camera with a look of bewilderment.

Awkward as, to say the least.

So our Football philosophy this year has been all 'arse-backwards'

My positive assessment of Rose-the-younger is largely from his ability to hold the ball and play it well. I agree that he's not quite there yet but I think it's clear that he will be eventually.
As it is, there was a number of situatiins today when he well outplayed the opposition and get the ball clear to someone else.
I thought he was one of our best tonight. Austin's been doing off a bit lately as has Fabio and everyone else bar Roy. But add I've started before - my view is that this is driven by the results... or lack of same.
I mostly agree worth you Wombat on the control of the game. Apart from a couple of short spells, it never really felt like we were in it.
I think though that this lineup would've lost by more last week and I didn't think WSW looked that likely. Not the way you'd hope for top of the ladder anyway.

Before the game I saw Mcbreen in the mcdonalds & he looked like he could play a full 90 mins

I wished Rudan had've interjected at the end of that pre-game interview with TW with something along the lines of ....

Rudan: "But Tony, with 18 (now 19) losses this season so far shouldn't you as the Manager, along with your coaching staff redirected your focus from the 'entertainment' and put it where it was most desperately needed ..... your defensive frailties !!! ????

TW: "We didn't (think) do that"

In fact Graham Arnold did just that.

Using TW's words:

"you set your defence out so that you don't lose games & you build from there."

Arnold, for all his subsequent criticisims, won a Premiers Plate and the following year the Mariner's only Championship using that very principle.

Tony does it all 'arse-back-wards' and the result ................. speaks for itself.
