R25 Mariners v WSW: #ThanksHutch

What a fitting display for Hutch's final game he will be in our hearts and minds forever. Hey wasn't great to see the WSWankers not disappoint us, with their fans who have the collective IQ of a gnat's nut, bring with them, their typical hooliganism, thuggish and loutish behaviour as evidenced in their supporters stands last night. There is one specific feral team that I delight in our boys beating and that team is yes the WSWankers. Having such a wonderful bunch of avid supporters they should get special mention in all main stream media.

For the majority of the WSW fans I thought they were OK. Outside after the game there were the usual suspects mouthing off at anybody in a yellow shirt, but they were in the vast minority. As we were leaving our seats there was a family of WSW fans still sitting down and one of the children was about a 4 or 5 year old boy absolutely breaking his heart because his team lost again. A passing WSW fan was trying to console him. That's the family aspect of the WSW fans you maybe don't see, you take note of the louts and ratbags down in the active supporters bay and not most of their fans like that family, proper football fans. :)

Aside from the flare I thought they were great. I'm usually one to bag them for their antisocial behaviour but the way they respected our foundation members and the massive round of applause they gave Hutch when he came off was amazing. Full credit to them they changed my mind a little ;)

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
the revving Ando copped ( among others) during the week, that was his best hit out for a good long while, I thought when we got the goal that we would clean em up, but don't matter, one = three....Hutch had a great first half , cooled off a bit in the second...young Kalik done alright.
Matter of fact all the boys improved out of sight from the roar game, like they couldn't......the hutch inspired tifo by the YA was brilliant, job well done to jimmy, fish, Harry, etc etc

The one issue I did have was the seating, we get to bay 17 and a very nice family of wanderer fans were taking up about 7 seats...there were a few actually scattered throughout bay 17 and sure enough a drunk had a crack at them something along the lines of " why don't ya sit with your own mob of c**ts", some coppers moved him along and the game started, but still .the sooner they make fans separated the better...yes, we're nowhere near European levels of supporter trouble, but why the hell would you want to sit on your own in the middle of the home fans...I certainly wouldn't.
And security done a great job again, took my wife's gatorade but let's flares and smoke bombs in...fkn nitwits

What a great night!!
A fitting farewell to Hutcho & Matty.

It wasn`t the highest quality game but it was so intense & edge of the seat stuff which made it one of the best games I`ve seen since we won the toilet seat.

I was extremely impressed with Anderson. For a guy that`s been bagged out lately he really rose to the occasion.
Monty was immense & ferocious in some of those tackles.
Ready had a great game too with some good saves.
Fab, although exciting, needs to concentrate on taking the best option. Double step overs, with two defenders on you, when there`s a man in support just doesn`t cut it.
Also, Kalic was poorly out of position & got monstered all night. I thought he was very ordinary but tried hard.
It was a different story when Simon came on though, first tackle & the defender was on his arse. For that alone I will miss him.

Overall a sensational night, even the missus ( a not sports person) enjoyed it.!!

That pass Kalik put through for Rosey makes up for any other failings in my book. He's not as big as Matty (or the WSW defenders) so that makes it hard for him as well as his lack of big-time experience. I think he'll do well. Isn't he an AM as well? If so, he'll struggle up the pointy end until he learns the trade.

Respect WSW fans thought they were great tonight. And as for the flair I felt I was in Europe watching a football game ,FOOTBALL = PASSION on the whole they were respectful especially to Hutch and even the staff and players of the WSW showed really good sportsmanship. All in all just a gutsy game football hats off to the boys played well.

You obviously didn't see them spill out of the stands reminiscent of a scene from World War Z
Well, no, I didn't. I suspect you didn't either, but if anyone did see them piling over one another to feast on human flesh I'd hope they'd take the information to the police rather than whining about it here.

It's not like I've never seen CCM fans acting like jerks around the place either, we just have fewer flares and smokies.

Great night ...

With Caceras., Fab, Kallic as attacking mids and Monty and Liam Rose as Def Mids ... we have a very strong midfield ... add Storm, Rose and Michael Neil as backs and Reddy in goals ... I guess this is the core we will build our side around... with Caceras., Fab, Kallic feeding a decent strike and having shots themselves next season with the right signings and coach will see us very competitive again...

I have just been looking at the table, we are 9 goals better in goal difference than the Jets so even if they win their last two games they won't jump above us unless they score an improbable amount of goals. For better or worse 8th spot is ours.
Looks like the spoon will be Jets or Wanderers.

The *only* counterpoint I can see here is the way our 2 tall backs in Anderson (particularly) and Bosnar dealt with the long clearance kicks by Bouzanis. They probably got about 90% of the headers from those clearances because they were about a head taller than the WSW attackers. just sayin'

So, what's the go with Reddy's drop kick clearance kicks? I think I saw 2? Both from the northern end, with the breeze. The distance doesn't seem quite as far as a normal kick. Why use it? What has the Brains Trust here got to say about it?

We can still get a tall centre back....
