ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Highlights from the away bay:

- 40 people outsinging an entire stadium of plastic fans
- "he's got a ferret on his head" at City's #27
- hanging shit on Caceres and Fitzy who warmed up in front of us
- "Welcome to the Melbourne Library" clapclap clapclapclap clapclapclapclap
- "You're shit when you're red, you're shit when you're blue, f**k Melbourne Heart, and f**k City too"
- "It's only 2-1, it's only 2-oneeeeeeeeeeee, how shit must you be, it's only 2-1"
Enjoyed all of it bar the Melbourne Heart dig, can we not steal chants from Victory? Spare a thought for the old Heart fans...

Just rewatching the game from home and Monty pass to set up Connor for the cross to Roy for his goal was a peach. Connor's ball and control was great too. Having seen that and a few other balls Monty has been able to play would putting McGing with Berry and Monty at 10 work?

No Monty's best attribute is tackling and getting in there and having a dig in the middle

I agree that those are Monty's greatest strengths on the field but he is not alone in that department in our team, and over last few weeks he has offered more creatively than Powell or Fabio.

We need to rename our club to the Central Coast Sydney Victory City Football Club for any chance of a fair go.

CCSVCFC, Ole!

And rename all our players to Cahill. Roy Cahill, Fabio Cahill, Trent Cahill (at least then we'll actually be able to pronounce the budgie's surname)....

f**k I hate the FFA sometimes.
the Completely Dependant Match Fixing Panel has determined that O'Donovan, by virtue of not playing for one of the FFA's favoured clubs or any club that the FFA doesn't want to see kicked out, deserved his 1 match suspension for doing the exact same thing as Besart Berisha without actually being Besart Berisha

(Yes, I'm fkn salty)
Actually a good result as didn't get extra punishment.

Posted article in just club news that we weren't challenging the card

Even the club (Okon) agreed it deserved a yellow. Therefore it wasnt possible to get the card rescinded completely.

Bottom line, a weak official allowed himself to be conned by a team known for trying to get people sent off. Valkanis bitched in the media pre game about them getting a shit go from officials and it worked.

Glass half full, we will get a chance to see Powell in his actual position hopefully

There are a lot of people out there and not Mariners supporters who feel the same way about this decision. The FFA has created a league of haves and have nots especially this season. Not healthy for the game as a whole. Really liked Forum Phoenix's post on U23 players picked for camp and which clubs they come from, practically no support to juniors from SFC, MV, Roar etc. Recall last year Arnie's blow up that SFC didn't want him to develop kids just win the comp and we don't care how you do it which he said can not be done fast with developing youth as that takes about three years.

Now the clubs looking after the next generation are being treated like second class citizens. FFA too focused on TV $ and a short term view.

Much as I'm still frustrated about the red, I'm not sure there was much to be done about it... From memory Victory appealed the card and got off because the camera angle didn't reflect the contact for Berisha... For mine it was clearly there though, that's one thing that I don't think anyone was denying... I just don't think that was a red card offense either.

We chose not to appeal because there was the clear potential for Roy's to be a yellow at least, but no doubt also due to bad experiences in the past... We'd have run the risk of copping a punishment for appearing frivolous.

The video angle not reflecting contact should be treated as inconclusive - I can only conclude that there was another camera angle which wasn't publicly disclosed, because the only footage of the Berisha incident was inconclusive.

Agree completely about the impact of the angle - it's a technicality, but I suspect that it's a technicality which they then used as an excuse to reverse a very poor decision. As stated above, I don't think there's any doubt that there was contact and I actually wouldn't have had a problem with Berisha getting a yellow for it, although I'm not convinced there was much in it that way either - but the red was clearly overreach.
For us, that wasn't an option because nothing was obfuscated.

Once that's said, the problem does become that every technicality or unused challenge, could perpetuate this issue as it also fails to engage a process in which this sort of thing is raised with the referees outside the video review sessions.
