ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

You're right Keensy, you can wear whatever you like..  However one would think if you're going to travel all that way to support your team, you'd wear your teams colours to show your support.

that said, support doesnt just come in the way of what colours you wear.

The joys of having different opinions

Yeh, unless you're wearing the colours, you're not showing true support for your team. I wouldn't have thought that was a difficult concept to grasp, but I guess Keensy has a very "special" view on most things.

People support there club in different forms. People choose headbands, wigs, facepaint....some choose standing and singing....others choose sitting on sidelines.

Judging someones support for the club based on one aspect(colour/clothes) is very narrow minded imo

do i need a reason to think your a part time fan and a dickhead?
LAWL, your right....massive part time fan. In the future i will try to show my loyalty to the team by buying memberships, going to matches, travelling interstate etc..... oh wait.

Wow, call the lynch-mob off! Keensy was wearing his Spurs jersey, correct, but didn't anybody notice the Mariners scarf around his neck? I suppose those football hooligans in the UK are all "part-timers" because you never see them wearing their club colours when they're fighting.

As long as people are standing in our bay, singing and cheering us on, I couldn't give a pig's arse what they wear. I mean maybe Keensy could've done what Skilly did and wear his Spurs (or in Skil's case Celtic) top under his Mariners jersey, but to blow up at him the way some people are on here is pathetic.

ive seen lots of other people in our bay at other games who have worn shirts other than a mariners one, even other football ones. there hasnt been this outcry before and im sure there are issues more pressing than whether keensy wore the right shirt or not

No there isn't we have a week off because of the international date, it's as bad as the offseason really. ;)

Maybe he was wearing the white of tottenham to be more like the players on the field.

As to comparing the situation to Europe, ffs we all generally drink in the same pub as other teams supporters and there isn't any crap between them, There is no reason to not wear colours because noone is going to kick your head in for wearing them. as for hoolies isn't it more about the scrap than the football anyway?

I dont know about what they hoolies do they you should probaly fire a question off over there way.
Wearing colours is all about a personal preference.
I prefer to not wear colours just as some people prefer to wear colours.
Its not like wearing colours makes you a better supporter and vice versa.

there are some things you're missing here keensy old son - in these pictures people it's in the middle of cold cold winters - people are often wearing scarves but you wouldn't know what jerseys they're wearing (if at all) because they've got heavy bloody jackets on.

at the newcastle and sydney games i would have looked like i was going casual because i had a big jacket on, but i had my jersey underneath so was still wearing 'colours', just nobody could tell.

i think it's debatable whether in itself wearing colours makes you a better supporter. *not* wearing colours certainly doesn't make you any better than anyone else.
