I think we will see more like this personally
                    Danny

            Wilko            Pedj
Porter                                Hef
                    Boog's

            Ossie              Hutch

                  Adrian

        Sash                Matty

Bench: Gumpy, Clarky, Dylan, Redmayne

I like it.  :pirashoot:

Boogs is out with groin injury.

Formation could be 4,2,3,1  ;)

I thought Mrdja and Dylan was the "dream team" with Saso and Matty as back up?

Could be wrong though?

Well that would work too.
What's great is that it is all a 'dream'. Past seasons we've had to push Tommy upfront and other stop gap solutions. When we were chasing we would chuck O'Grady up front. This season, our bench could transform Newcastle's season. Well done to Lawrie for assembling a such a potent strike force under the cap. Now just getting them playing at their best and we'll win the league.

I reckon with Dylan's performances and Matty's goals-per-game record this year they would be the two most likely starters, although the one time they played together as a front two, they failed to score - in Wellington.

I agree with people who are concerned about Qld's pace, and therefore disagree with playing one of our slowest players, boogs, in midfield!

Qld haven't won away since the 2nd Nov, 4 games ago.
Van Dyk's in good form though and we're going to have to combat their width to stop service coming into him, and that means combatting the speed of Zullo and others.
So I think the key in this game is strong defence on the flanks.
2-1 to the Mariners.

When did that happen?

Agree I don't think that boogs is the best bet but I do think that is what the gaffer may be thinking. My line up was what I expect to see not what I want.

As to Dylan and Matty, unless we are playing 3 up front it will be one or the other and not both, just think they are better playing with someone like sasho up front.

Jesus

Jesus
Danny
porter boogs wilko sonic
            Ledj
Ozzie                  Hutch

Simon    Macca    Sash

That is my guess. I think pedj could fill jedi's role easy enough.

Lets not forget, pedj is on 7 yellows, meaning one more would see him out for 2?
Sash also a yellow from suspension.

Pedj would be a big hole with jedi out if he picks up that yellow pre-finals

. his current strike rate would indicate he can't go three rounds without picking up a yellow

. also i don't think boogs and wilko have worked too well together in the centre of defence

Boogs is a talented player. In my mind the most talented of all our backs but I have NEVER seen a defender successfully transposed into a centre middie....its a very specialised position.  The only three players capable of playing DM in the squad are Hutch, Gumps & Owens.

. problem being that neither gumps or owens have an aerial presence and are not the best tacklers

Muscat is the only one that's cut the mustard.  He also appears to be playing very deep this year like a 5th defender.
Would I have Muscat in my team as a middie....No. But as a fullback he far better than any of our boys.

Boogs would be better served at RB.

Mick,

I hate playing with a lone striker.  Has LM named the team and formation?

You are probably right and we shouldn't have let Jedi go without having a replacement for him. Gumps is the natural replacement but maybe he is getting too long in the tooth to be a starting player rather than an impact player off the bench.
