Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Of the young guys Kalik was was great. Some of his through balls were top shelf.

Cernak played on the right wing. I though he was pretty rubbish.

Hutch did play some good positive football and Duke looks promising although he missed a sitter which he tried to pass into the goal.

Overall I though we showed some good quality. Can wait to see more.

Not a bad run. I was quite impressed with the acadamy. That ball from their #4 to set up the penalty was first class....they showed us up for a 5 min period.

The mini brick outhouse in Monty's shirt got lost a few times. Chesty was quite good especially when marshalling the youngest side.

Bosnars goal was nicely taken.

Trifs goal was nicely finished and he looked hungry.

Hutcho looked good but was starting to gas out with 5 to go.

Duke looked lively but took a few wrong options.

Cernak looked a bit lost on the wing, especially defensively but showed some nice touches and linked quite well.

The young Rose looks quite good.

at times yes . but it seemed like the shape kept changing and looked 352 . it looked different to last year
Was Monty dropping between the CBs?

Towards the end of last year we played quite a bit with a shape that varied between a 3-5-2 and a 5-3-2. At the very least, it's another option available to us if it suits.

Monty wasn't playing because of the Allstars game. I saw no evidence of Hutch doing this in defence. He would do his usual drop back in attack if the CBs were having trouble getting the ball out.

I think the shape changing was more players not knowing where to be because there was a lot of inexperienced players in there that didn't play in our first. Though I did notice were really trying to work a possession game especially in the first 30mins and therefor players were a lot more mobile and moved away from set zones to pick up the ball, which is encouraging.

Cernak seemed to be playing up front . it looked like we were playing a 352

I know what you mean but he was supposed to be on the wing but he did drift inside a lot....this is a good trait sometimes but you must also have the engine to quickly track back when needed.
There was a CCM corner and Bosnar was telling him to drop out of the box which didn't really compute with him as he fancies himself as a striker.

yeah , and steady seemed to be calling a lot of play (very happy with that )
Needs to work on his feet under pressure. SCW sat off our CBs, basically trying to close off passing options to their FBs, but when that was successful and the CBs passed to Reddy, they'd press and as often as not force an error. Reddy and the two CBs need to develop a better routine of keeping the short square ball open, and if one CB passes to Reddy then the pass to the other CB should stay open and we open up the play. If the other striker presses in to block that pass, the DM or a FB will have opened up and we play that way. Need a whiteboard to explain...

No whiteboard needed. Fairly straight foward.
