ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I am not sure you can state a large section of your customer base, maybe a large portion of fans active on here may have that opinion but I wouldn't say it translates. It has not popped up a a topic of conversation in many of the conversations and discussions I have had off forum, most other fans either don't know Reddy's history or don't care.

. speculation and anecdotal evidence can go either way. i have had plenty of conversations (off forum) where it has come up recently and i have not been the instigator - you could also argue that if people don't know or care of the history then they wouldn't mind if he doesn't sign

. so far the most positive comment i have heard is 'i trust the management know what they are doing' ... i can't remember anybody advocating his signing. that is a pretty clear statement in itself

. it is certainly an interesting discussion because as we build history this type of thing may become more common ... but i can't imagine too many individuals 'inspiring' such ... umm, debate

If you equate customer base to members, they will be the ones with the most history and longest associations.

The fact that reasonable sections of our active support loathe him as a player cant help either.

Are we sure that Reddy will be #1? Pas has only signed a one-year extension hasn't he? Maybe they're going to let Reddy prove himself on the splinter until Pas' contract expires.
I have to say that when last he played with the big boys he wasn't the worst keeper I've ever seen (not the best either), and maybe he's the only one with any ability prepared to ride the sideline until he's needed.

. i think that considering the champions are struggling to meet their relatively low target for memberships the (alleged) signing of reddy is a very big issue - if, as stated, it is driving members and fans away

The club seems to disagree with you:
We're set to crack our best ever membership figure tomorrow - a great achievement for the Club. #aleague

And from the corporate sales exec:
Big day of Membership renewals here at the @ccmariners office, great to see the amount of local support and passion #COYY #GoMariners

At the forum tonight it was stated by GA and Hutch that Reddy has been accepted by the players and will fit in with the dressing room no problems.

It was also stated that John Crawley rates him as the best that is currently available.

They were both very strong that he will fit in well with the "family".

Having heard this strong support, as long as he does not have any "brain explosions" on the pitch I am prepared to give him a chance.

. my point is ... despite record numbers it is still (imo) an embarrassingly low number for the champions. we can't afford to be turning any members or potential members off

. the most important thing is that if people aren't going to renew they need to tell the club why. since the numbers are already higher than last year the 'protest' message will be lost

I would venture to say that if fans of other clubs were to comment on our presumed no dickheads policy they would question why John Hutchinson is the captain...

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
Well..Arnie and Hutch stated at the forum that, firstly, Liam hasn't signed
but that he has learnt his lesson and swore an oath of good behaviour...they also said that Simmo has forgive him for prior transgressions..and J.C digs him...its all up to Paz to keep him on the bench....so I guess we will just have to wait and see ...

If members are not going to renew because they do not like who we signed as a second keeper, they appear to be even less a fan than any other common band waggonner and really not worth bothering with.
Agreed.
We have signed him to do a job. He is a decent enough keeper.
Yes he has been a cock head in the past and even worse he is a ex scummer.
Grow up peeps. If Justin does the job you won't even see him.

Right. Well. Not what everyone (except Bladesman) wanted. But no point focusing on it anymore either.
In GA, Crawley and Hutch we trust I guess. If anyone can help him change, I'd hazard it's GA and our dressing room.
If not, a zero tolerance policy is there for a reason.

It is exactly what I wanted, a non issue put to bed by the people that are in a better position to make the judgement than us on here.
