ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

player appreciation......

Just putting it out there - can you launch a visual protest against the team on one hand and expect them to come and shake your hand and apologise to you on the other?

Possibly because we are the customers and pay their wages. Its called customer relations. If you fail to deliver, you fix it and say sorry.

WTF would sports people be different from anyone else?

I don't disagree with that, but I'm referring specifically here to the 'protest' that was conducted at the match, ie an upside down banner.

Constantine's actions against the Squadron boys were obviously out of line, but when they launched their protest I bet they were hardly expecting him to come down from the stands and blow them. As fans, there is a certain division you're going to create by taking that action.

I was told that the 'protest', serious or not, was against the players for being "f**king shit". IMO those same people shouldn't be the ones complaining that they don't get enough love from the team. You can't have it both ways.

So should players have smoke blown up their ass and told they played well when they didnt? Honest question.

You have to be able to seperate work from leisure. DJ is my boss, if I do shit at work, I expect him to tell me what im doing wrong. If I do bad enough, he should fire me. It wont stop me having a beer with him afterwoods and it wont stop me being his mate.

Obviously different situations here, but the same principal stands imo

In saying that, ill add that I think a lot of people on here go WAY overboard with their criticism of players. They are only human after all, we all make mistakes, and im sure none of them mean to stuff up. Sometimes 100% is just not good enough if your outplayed, but if they are giving 100% then what more can we ask for?

For those of you who think we bag out our own players to much, maybe you should have a look at the comments on the story I just found here....

If the comments on our forum are over the mark, then what are the comments by these know-it-all wankers?

Bear someone at 442 should moderate their site because that is wrong. Hutch did score a cracker goal and was a good choice as Marinators goal of the Year.

No it is definately at Hutch. Maybe he will prove them wrong in the ACL. (The football related talk)  the rest of it is just crap.

Rofl at believing that holding your own banners upside down and the upside down holding of another teams banner as the same thing(eg protest)

Hmmm.

Opposition banner held upside down.

Me: What are you protesting?

Gentleman holding banner: The team

Me: Why?

GHB: Because we're f**king shit.

Forgive me for misinterpreting then...?

You are forgiven
It is held upside down to show disrespect to the group where the banner is from
