Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Might be winnable for CCM on current form. Vidmar will find another way to baffle us all with his "tactics", with the exception that the Mariners have firepower to punish them for it.

I don't think i have ever heard the mariners being described as having firepower.
Statistics say the same, we are equal bottom with Pissant in goals scored so far with 5. Fortunately we are equal first with GC in goals conceded (3) and third on goal difference behind GC & Bling (+2).

And how many goals did we score last season with the same strike force?
I was actually only referring to this season so far. To me the goals scored:goals conceded ratio is of more importance.
As for goals scored last year with the same strike force -- bugger all. We were scoring lots while Sasho was playing, but once he was dumped we struggled to score at all. The other point is that while we were scoring a lot we were also leaking a lot. This years stats are a lot more comforting to me. I would rather see 1-0 than 5-4 any day when we are playing.

We haven't suffered too much without Doig though to be honest. If he's fit i would still like him back in though. In 3 or 4 weeks we will see some real competition for places with Huke coming back,Crowell's visa through, Wolfe having made some NYL appearances, Doig fit again,Elrich and Nik getting better and better.

We have good options. And it's good that players are fighting for positions.
Its only going to help the team

am fine with disco starting, as we tend to gain momentum toward the final 30,
and if he is his usual the momentum shouldnt be lost when dmac etc comes on.
am extremely keen to see crowell and Reggae play, moreover against GCU,
but a tester first please. . . . 3-1 to us (Matty dmac and travis)

matty is a poacher, not really a trademark forward who can launch rockets, though the occasional consistent on, wouldnt hurt at all.

starting to look good isnt it

I think we are looking quite fine at the moment compared to other clubs. Some of the other squads are really stretched thin with injuries, rep duties and transfers. I noticed that some of our youth team have had a season of NSWPL under their belt with the Captain Panny Nikas looking especially promising from newspaper reports. I would like to think at least one youth player will make the step up this year. I am going down to watch the NSWPL Final at Penrith on Sunday and will be very interested to see how Panny goes.

When does this change... when is Doig back in two weeks ... two weeks has been said now for 5 weeks... when is Huke back in five weeks...

5 weeks should be right if all goes well for Hukes injury.
But I don't have any goss on Doig and keep wondering the same thing.
All I can think is that its still niggling when he's tried to train, and he's not 100%
with his strength tests. Could also have been some skullduggery when he was first injured
to not freak fans or give too much away to other teams - could understand as we were all pretty much seeing him as or defensive saviour.
