Kinda agree re the signings.. On balance I think we have a stronger squad than we had at the start of the season... Mossey has done well especially if the state league players come good...

Bernie could turn out to be better than weeMac ....
Kim on paper is better than Macka..
Bonsar hopefully will be the new Dutchie ... we will miss Trent ..but Eddy Bonsar could be a huge help especially to Anderson .. we loose a bit ...
Of the three signings from the State league they look decent ... and Cernak at 24 HHHMmmmm will be a strong squad player ...

I am very impressed with the whole club here (not sure is actually reponsible) but we were linked with good players & seemed to have bagged a few & dealings were pretty hush hush except for Rogic (naturally).

On one of the fox sports shows before or after a game they were talking about us & said we missed out on Rogic & Berisha. I thought was that an error about berisha. Either way we had a dig if did & we could never compete with MV marquaree salaries.

Almost getting good - The Korean sounds impressive (lets see hi min action)

Good state league acquisitions to bolster depth.

Overall we do look a much stronger squad. I'd actully say we look better now than in July (except for Trent missing).

& better yet they are not just short term door stoppers - Cernak & Korean 1 & half yrs gives time to really see how they go

Had his measure in windy wellington & until Mcbreen put one in Tonga from the spot & we conceded right on half time

Gotta say Mosse's signings have all worked, unlike many managers ..

Yep... I have to admit, sofar Sim and Trifiro in particular, have worked well enough to make you wonder htf they were never picked up by someone (I may have mentioned this before ;) )... At the very least, they're better squaddies than many teams can manage, at best... Well, they're better ;)

Agree how ever I think we will regret the Flores decison. Should at least offered him a half baked offer & said that's all we can afford.

Kim is good but soft as butter & a bit inconsistant
Caceras is not looking #10 material to me
Trifiro is a hard worker who puts him self in the right area but is what he is - A good cheap squadie.

Flores or someone else would be a better addittion to the squad. I understand we can't have to many of the same type of players but I don't think we have any one really good there out of the 3 mentioned. Was Kim's 1-1/2 year deal a panic buy? While he has played for big Asian clubs can see why he lost his place.

Think Mossy was hamstrung by Storm's cramp in Perth but was his bench right? Should he have had Trifiro or Sim on the bench instead of Monty? For me Monty is a starter not a sub - All in or out for me on Monty. Works when we are in front but not when behind or do you gamble & leave out Griff & push Hutch or Monty into the backs if one breaks down? Pretty risky

Agree big Al......I really think we miss that creativity that Flores gave us. Perhaps I'm alone in being very underwhelmed by Kim....but I think Sim and Trifiro are pretty good. But as we are always strapped for cash, I can understand why we couldn't afford what Flores might expect.

I know stats don't prove everything but here goes

Marcos 851 minutes in 12 games for 3 goals and 1 assist

Kim 843 minutes in 11 games for 2 goals and 4 assists

Pretty interesting - Not sure but weren't all 3 of Flores goals from the spot? That said I think one of Kim's is as well + SFC free kick.

However the 4 assists to 1 is very interesting.

I think kim would be more pleasing on the eye if he wasn't on the ground grabbing something for half of those 843 minutes. When he stands up he's not to bad.

It's a Perez/Amini thing - Florez/Perez are prettier, dance around and play oh-so-elegant passes. Amini/Kim are quicker onto the ball and release quicker - I find the former more 'watchable' and the latter more effective.

Agreed, plus I feel Kim is very weemac first season in terms of Body mass. If he can add a lean 5kg in the off season then he will handle the league better than he currently does.

Astute observation ... I agree ..

I saw on Ch7 this A.M that Mossy aint best pleased about the draw for the semi's...he says that after the game in Japan, his only got one day to prepare for the Wanderers game...what with the FFA Cup and the ACL now, its about time the league got a squad increase...thoughts?

Increase the salary cap by $250,000 or so and have an unrestricted number of players...

Midweek fixtures are part of the game, it happens. Wanderers and Victory both have mid-week fixtures too. Would've been nice if our game was the Sunday but oh well.

But I do think U23 players shouldn't count. Either towards cap or towards player amount. Sans foreign-born/trained players (some sort of 3 year home-grown rule a la UEFA).
