ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Number 7 fires more off the field than off the field.....

I think of it like this; If Caceras shit in your hat, you would buy him a beer. But if Hutcho bought you a beer, you would want to shit in his hat. And if he didn't own a hat, you would buy him one, just so you could shit in it.

Any mods out there?

Whether it is true or not, it is a wonderful piece of publicity for the club and the A-League.

I wonder how long before the gutter press picks it up.

Morons.

If its true, then why hide it? Once you're a public commodity then you should ALWAYS expect both fair and unfair criticism for your efforts both good and bad.

You really think so? I wonder what other dirt we can find on the team we supposedly support?

"Don't shoot the messenger".

People can come up with all sorts quotes to support their opinions but if something as average as this happened why should it be hidden? I don't understand this whole "the players are holier than thou attitude". They should be accountable for their actions in a public setting and as employees of an organisation we are members of we can comment if we like. We are not even talking about someone's private life here. This was a player clocked on for duty, in uniform and arriving for a match.

I, for one, don't advocate a culture of secrecy because that ultimately leads to bigger problems and egos.

I'm quietly confident that there are a few people on here who have tales they could tell about CCM players out and about. This is a small town and they are v high profile.

To my knowledge, there is little or no gossip because (as Mick says) they are off duty.

I understand that yesterdays incident was quite different

Fair enough I suppose if you want to be fair. I am afraid I do not wish to be fair and am a one eyed supporter who thinks the fans should support the club in any way possible.

It is not a major incident but I really think it is not good to put this stuff up on our forum and advertise it to the world. All we are doing is giving more ammunition to the scum for Friday's game.

If on the other hand you want to see shit piled upon Hutch in the hope that he will be dropped, which in turn will benefit the club then it is a different story.

Walt Kelly first used the quote "We Have Met The Enemy and He Is Us" on a poster for Earth Day in 1970. The poster is shown above. In 1971, he did a two panel version with Pogo and Porky in a trash filled swamp. This is the only example I know of with a balloon, indicating Pogo responding to Porky with "YEP, SON, WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND HE IS US." In 1972, it was the title of a book, Pogo: We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us. OGPI had the version shown to the right produced for the Waycross, Georgia Pogofest in 1998 as a brass plate on a wooden plaque.

I think Mick was just quoting a reply to your quote, I could be wrong though.
