ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

indeed. and rigged. nsw i think are winning the penalty count, but qld are offending more. also, inglis had a huge forward pass for the boyd try, i mean it was just massive. in the penalty on quinn for taking out thurstone, there had been a pass about a metre forward a couple of passes earlier there too.

ARL can't afford a dead rubber in sydney - if they had to give away something like 20k tix for the opening match, could you imagine what they'd have to do for a dead rubber? they might as well lock the gates and call it tv only and save themselves the staffing costs!

NSW origin player Greg Bird was apparently handcuffed as a prank by QLD police last night when waiting for a taxi. according to the footy show he did absolutely nothing wrong :p

Apparently it was a wind up by local police and they released him straight away.

Listening to NRL World (or sports today on 2UE) they did mention that a player from a "high profile" club has had a more serious run in and they expect it to become public over the next day or so.

you would think...given that the NRL are being run by mildly intelligent quasi-humans...that they would realise its time to stop putting teams in the SFS/ANZ/etc....the teams that are using these venues, go back to your original home grounds you dolts...then maybe just maybe they wont look as stupid on tele with 2000 people where 60,000 should be

SPEAKING OF NRL HOOLIGANS....Did we all hear that the NRL Footy show has stuck their collective feet in their collective big stupid heads?...Thursday night vautin crossed to Robbo out front of the caxton  were the arrogant little bastard proceeded to put shit on one of the doorman...it was clear (to me anyway) that this young fella had a speech impediment...back in the studio the panel near pissed themselves laughing calling the young fella blind drunk, off his skull etc etc......turns out that the kid has a form of epilepsy that causes speech difficulties....and it sounds like the father of this kid is suing vautin/the panel in general/ robbo/the producers of the show...GOOD.....I hope vautin et al lose theirs houses, jobs etc....as for that arrogant little bastard robbo ( who i've had the misfortune of meeting, he stuck a mic in my face in Pitt st mall and mouthed off... i promptly told him to piss off) well he just flat out needs a touch up by someone...BUT...the question begs...why didnt the on site producer veto the kid first ( i thought they had to get your permission before you went on air)...F**K THE LOT OF 'EM ON THE FOOTY SHOW I HOPE THEY END UP IN THE POORHOUSE

National Rugby League chief executive David Gallop told the Herald the future of rugby league is "rosy and going from strength to strength". Gallop said the other codes, including Australian football and soccer, had their own challenges and he rejected any suggestion union and league could combine forces.

"I am very confident in rugby league's future, and while there are some initiatives that we have worked on with union, such as doping, sports betting and new media rights, I don't see huge opportunities for synergies beyond that," Gallop said.

"AFL and soccer are not without their own challenges. With AFL, they have a number of teams in Melbourne and are keen to manipulate the draft system to accommodate new teams, and equally football would be the first to admit they have a long way to go in this country."

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahaha, this moron is kidding himself, right??  Mate, another pokie tax increase and half the teams in your Mickey Mouse competition are dead within two years.  No room for international _or_ national growth, dwindling crowds in Sydney, and AFL and Football owning you in the boardroom and on the sponsors dollars scale??    If it wasn't for Channel Nine, we could have kissed RL goodbye back in '95.  Just f*ck off and die already you piss-weak excuse for a sport, honestly.....

Gotta love how his single criticism of AFL was the draft system...... something the NRL doesn't even have.  And his criticism of football??    Well, he couldn't come up with anything specific, so he just goes for the generic "long way to go" bullshit.  But as Greenpole said, even this knob is calling the game by it's right name.

Guess we've come a long way already Mr. Gallop??  F*cking moron.

i don't mind people disliking rugby league, but you are trying a little too hard to find a reason to criticise what he has said here.

Tell me how he is wrong by saying that football still has a long way to go in this country???
