Newcastle "Supporters"

Everybody has these sort of problems. I've encountered dickheads supporting pretty much every team in the A-League (well except Wellington, haven't been there yet). Tards throwing flares, glass bottles and coins on countless occasions, Coasties trying to punch on outside the CCLC post-match, Jets throwing bottles and other shit from the top tier onto away fans, Queenslanders trying to punch on in Caxton Street, Reds throwing glass bottles at away fans and Perth kiddies running into the away bay pushing and throwing punches. And yes, I've had to pull Sydney fans away from throwing haymakers at opposing fans.

In nearly all situations, it's the people who have either had too much to drink or don't know where the line is between being a supporters and being a dickhead that cause these problems. They make up a minute fraction of these teams supporters but everybody gets blamed for their actions.

Is it unfortunate that this happens? Yes
Should it be stopped? Yes
Can it be stopped? Short of having police actively control and herd supporters in and out of venues, No.

Its also the pack mentality. Because there is 20 guys in a brawl, the 21st guy thinks its ok because 20 others are already doing it, and also has others to go down with him.

Happens in schools as well... very rarely will 1 guy go and do something wrong... it is nearly always he and his mates.

Yeh well starting a group specifically for the purpose of bashing those people is only creating a target for those exact people. Its actually going to incite violence. The best way to handle it is with decent security, to avoid crossing the line yourself and to control your mates if they look like crossing it. If everyone did that on both sides, the problems would be few and far between.

And dont tell me that your fans dont come onto our forum as well and troll, because they do, and I have personally booted them for it.
I am not here to preach to anyone, I am just providing a perspective from the other side of the fence as it were, it wouldnt have mattered if we had won or lost. You can take what I say with a grain of salt or not, its a free country. Unlike some people (again on both sides) I am able to have a conversation of sorts with opposition fans about the game regardless of the result, without the need to resort to petty namecalling.
