I've met one decent Jets fan in my time with the A-League.  That's it.  And to be fair, he's still a bit of a knob sometimes.

The rest are a pack of unwashed heathens for whom the term "scum ridden filthy bogans" would be considered a compliment.

Pair ejected from speeding vehicle

A woman is in a critical condition after two people were flung from speeding four-wheel-drive as it did a U-turn in the NSW city of Newcastle.

The 21-year-old woman was run over by the same vehicle after she hit the road, police said, and then failed to stop.

Four people had been picked up by the vehicle outside a hotel in King Street about 10.20pm (AEDT) on Tuesday, but as it did a rapid and illegal U-turn, the pair were thrown out, they said.

The driver did not stop, despite running over the 21-year-old woman, who suffered life-threatening injuries.

"The driver ... accelerated away from the hotel, performing a U-turn across two eastbound lanes at speed and mounting a median strip into the westbound lanes," a police statement said.

"The woman was then run over before the four-wheel-drive left the scene."

Police said the vehicle was last seen turning left into Steele Street, and fave called for witnesses to come forward.

The injured woman, from Belmont North, was rushed by ambulance to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital where she remains in a critical condition on Wednesday.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
