couldd be worse

How the f**k could it be worse?
Wait until the team lose the Olympics, we'll see how you feel then.
Oh, and what about future Socceroos keeper? Covic aint gonna last that long.. and who else? Gonna give it to Velaphi?

You're f**king kidding me.

You could have lost vukovic for life or for the whole of season 4.
Velaphi is a good enough keeper, though if we vs Brazil we are stuffed  :yellowcard:
Covic and Vukovic will be like Schwarzer and Kalac - two very close rivals.
Vukovic i believe will play for the socceroos.

I'm not even gonna argue with you about Sack-whacker, it's been done before.
Close rivals for how long!? Covic ain't gonna be round for too much longer dude, regardless of how good he is (in which I admit he had a fantastic season)

Velaphi might have his moments, bit if you ask me, his technique is pretty bad - though he's young and with plenty of room for improvement. I.E, watch him dive low to the right. Instead of extending his right arm, he uses it to cushion himself and reaches out with his left. He does the same when he dives to the left..

This might be fine sometimes, but using his left gives him less reach and less force to push the ball away or sweep it back in toward his body. Also, the angle in which the left hand is, invites the ball to pop over his hand.

Yeah covic might be around for say 6,7 years but i believe he will go to the 2010 WC should we make it. Vukovic will also go but play covic's role in the 2006 WC.
I also believe that Vukovic will be AUS keeper for 2014 or maybe even 2018.

And i agree with you on his technique.
BTW are you a keeper?

I'm happy to work on a Danny face mask cut out

To get best results, we'd need a high-res portrait photo of him without too much contrast or flare.
If we can source that, would be brilliant!

I'd like to see Covic around for a couple more seasons if he can stay fit and on his game. Though in reality, I don't know if he'll last that long.

Haha, I keep sometimes, nothing competitive though, I like to dabble.
And technique and analyzing has probably always been my forte within football.

Shit you lost me in that grant.

I'll put some pictures up and get feedback for best quality for printing.
Maybe we might get a sponsor to help the freedom fighters.

Yeah, I'd love to play competively, though I'm pretty short and one of my knees is about on-par with Nik. So I just observe and comment. Indoor and friendly matches though, I like to play goals.

We'll see what happens with Covic.

I'm sure some of the senior guys that have contacts within the club might be able to help us out with this. I also know a guy who works in a coffee shop at Terrigal that's pretty tight with the boys, if we can't find something, I might be able to ask him to grab me a nice happy snap!

Yeah, though it doesn't seem to be the most appropriate/noticeable place to do it.
I'm at work at the moment, but when I get home I might write up a draft and run it by some of the mods for approval and their help with it, might try get it stickied with some sort of HTML table or something.

I'll see what I can do. :)

Sounds good, I mentioned it in that thread as well just to get the idea going (Can't Hurt)

Thanks

I can't see either of the Griffiths boys leaving Newcastle, unless to an overseas based club. Covic, well I don't know about him really.

BTW; when does Joel leave for Japan?

Been said before but this is really beginning to look like a mission to do a job on CC. Look at some of the rulings that have gone agianst us this year (missed dot shots penalties either from hand balls or man handling) an offside given in crucial game when its blatantly obvious that the goal should stand. Con and Frank should really be proud ,Frank has JA for SFC and Con has his golden haired boy best and fairest and an official who made a wooful error??? is given the ref of the year. No wonder JA went to the dark side at least he will get a fair go. :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard:

I'm still not sure that's good enough. It might do if we can't get any better but see;

It's small, smaller than a real human-size head, so when you blow that up make the masks, it's gonna become super-pixelated.

I think someone else was gonna work on it as well, but I might have a go at trying to get it the average size for a mask and see how it looks.

EDIT: I've created a thread in the Marinators section addressing my ideas and others that have been strewn around the thread to be used as a central area for discussing projects for V4  :)

The red card idea was floating around either the Victory or Breeze FC forums about a year ago, but funny thing is it was shot down in one post as being impossible to arrange. Not so for the "can do" spirit of the Marinators. Good show

I honestly don't see how it's hard to organise?
Let's examine the logistics...

1. Either A4 sheets of red cardboard are obtained, or white cardboard printer or painted red.
2. Said sheets of cardboard are cut into equal squares, same as an actual "red card"
3. Optional; cards are laminated.
4. Said (laminated) cards are handed to people as they walk into bay 16 (and maybe 15 & 16)

Such antics can be promoted on the forum and also in the Kendall Bar before the game so people know what is going on and then can instruct others in the bay why exactly we're handing them red laminated cardboard :p

Hard? Probably if you're a bogan.
