ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Disappointing, but not exactly unpredictable. My heart goes out to Danny. Yes, it was a silly thing to do (and yes, I'm biased), but it wasn't a patch on Griffith's actions, for example. The review board has made a token amendment to the punishment, but in practical terms, nothing has changed in terms of sentence length.

The only thing that's changed is that it's been extended to the Olyroos squad. He's missing out on the chance of a lifetime, and I hope he has the people around him to help him through it, so he comes back ready to reclaim the No.1 spot with us.

Thanks to the FFA, we have had to endure:

1) The ticketing fiasco at EAs when they were unable to segregate fans or ensure that people with GA didnt cram into seat in the bay.

2) The GF fiasco where they decided to move it to Sydney but not cover additional travel costs (I spent more on the finals than my membership BTW)

3) The Danny disaster.

I've been really cranky about all of this (including the ticketing to a "home" GF and the lack of replays at the ground) and have had a big think about it all.

What if we could persuade as many fans as possible to get up and leave their seats for 5 mins or so at a designated time (say 10 mins in) at our first home game next year? Just go the the back of the stands and leave the game in silence for a while? Fox couldn't ignore it as it would be happening in the background and a carefully worded statement could be released to say why we are all upset? Most likely nothing would result but at least we get to protest in some way and the club still gets their money for the game.

Thoughts?

That would look ridiculously crazy on TV.
Fox seem to show us a fair bit, so I'm sure they'd notice and show it.

Would be pretty hard to organise and such.

Imagine if we scored when none of us were there. Insanity!

The ultimate train wreck of all time.  You fear to watch, yet you cannot turn away!!!

I believe Bearinator has a mankini, Auburn. He's been threatening to wear one, to one of the beach themed Mariners home games. ;) ;D

is anyone thinking what im thinking
I think this is the way to unleash hell upon the FFA :p

By the way the ref should have been booked for diving himself.....

HAHA yeah we've all seen this and it's quite possible it was used as "evidence", who knows.
There's also been mention and reference to numerous other incidents, Milligan, Griffiths (obviously), even Cantona (even though it was a spectator) - he even gave a public press conference about the incident.. explaining how fish follow the trawler when they suspect it may dump bait into the ocean. Or some shit like that.

I'm for walking out of Bay at firstgame - I feel that I am living under an oppressive regime called the FFA because my life is football and I am therefore an oppressed person.

Oppression breads rebel fighters and we are them.

United we stand! to fight the oppressor

Nice protest idea. Probobly best not to do it at the start of the game and abandon the team.

Perhaps a more symbolic 9th minute.

I'm with Pointy! I think it would be more appropriate for everyone to whip out Danny masks rather than turn their backs at the game - I don't want to turn my back on the team! only problem is expense :O .

Also Chumbawamba's Tubthumping has never been more appropriate

I can't see it being too expensive to print out some Danny masks.
The Marinators don't have to organise this for everyone, people could take it in their own liberty to print out 20-30 of them and use some string or shoe lace to attach it to the face and we can give them to people as they walk up the stairs (if we want everyone to have them)
Or just have a few people at strategic areas around 15-16-17 to hand them out.

Would be pretty fantastic.

Good point - I think emptying stands would send a v strong message and it is the silent, peaceful & dignified protest that Ghandi would have come up with if he was a Mariners Fan.

I'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to publicise widely (blogs/Facebook/Press etc).

Ground staff could do nothing about it and it would send a v clear message
