The whole game from the MAriners has been terrible. we can't hold the ball!!! Lucky heart aren't playing well WITH the ball.

Good start to the season of 2010-11. I didn't expect the Heart to win, watched them play the Roar at Toowoomba just over a month ago and they weren't a well organised team at all, they lacked a fair bit of cohesion up front. Plenty of time for improvement though.

What I did like was we didn't play the long ball tonight. Ok we struggled to hold the ball but at least we tried to play with the ball not hoof it down the park like last year. Big difference without Boogard who was the main culprit last year....

Pedj was a bit of a worry but overall happy with the way we played. Lets be honest we were always going to sit back - soak up pressure and play on the counter.....

Matty had a great game - was dissapointed Bozzanic wasn't able to get into the game more but hey we were away and we won so hey lets take it and move on....

Great result- clearly the boys are a bit rusty but at the end of the day a wins a win. Good goal too ...

Yup, I'm also very happy with the 1-0 win.... considering we could barely put 2 passes together in a row!!

On the upside.... atleast we know we can defend ;-) Hoping Arnie can get the boys to gel a bit better over the coming weeks to see us alot better at holding the ball and knocking it around!!! Then.... bring on the finals!!

But all in all.... a win is a win, and we got the 3 points!!!



On a side note though... watch the Heart later on in the season.... once their mids & strikers start hitting their straps I think they'll be a different team altogether and quite hard to beat.

We were fortunate to strike the Heart early in the season. Once they get there shit together, they're going to be a handful.
