ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners vs Scum

What an epic night, was great, Front of the bay was great fun, was right near the incident where someone got a mass black eye, later I found out people thought that was me ahah.

And Macca's goal was a lot better than I thought.

Watching that game was like trying not to shit my pants for 94 minutes straight. I felt more nervous than I was at the GF, to be honest. I was the only Mariner watching it at the Pig & Whistle up here in Brissie, had to go ask could they change the TV over from the MLB game that was on.

Great to see the coloured strips of material going down the Bay at the start of the match- hopefully we can build on this to something even bigger and more impressive. Kudos also to whoever on here designed that 'Ploddy says FIRE UP!' banner- glad to see you did what some people haven't done and gone through with a kick-arse banner design. I noticed it in the Bay at the start of the game. If everyone on here made the banners/ flags they said they were going to, we would have the most visually impressive army in the league. Something to think about peoples!  :eek:verhead:

Matty Breeze was very quiet tonight, which is what he should be like every time he takes the field. My only point of contention was the raised elbow by Griffiths Snr. Apart from that, I still can't believe we beat the Scum without the players we had missing and with Breeze in charge- I'm half expecting to wake up tomorrow morning to find Emily Scott in my bed!  ;)

OK, I have just played Central Coast v Scum on PS3 FIFA 09 and here is the definitive guide:

Mariners 1
Scum 0
Crowd: didn't say but there was plenty of yellow behind the goals
Scorer: D-Mac

FIFA 09 knows all

yeah, the fights were a bit ridiculous.
A bit? Try a lot. Might explain the crowd size. It's one thing to have a derby rivalry, quite something else to beat up this artificial hatred, both on this forum and on the Jets forum. It has to stop NOW and it could start by everyone not referring to Newcastle as 'scum' anymore.

how sharp was nikis touch.
unbelievable. what about when he almost kept that ball in play... he controlled it by tapping it through is legs and it was the most perfect touch. i cant wait til he gets fit and in true form.

In a game of awful first touches he certainly stood out when he came on. Too bad he knocked up after 5 minutes.

Mate the scum will be reffered to as waht they are, scum and bogan's. The whole drama's wouldv'e been avoided if the muppet's wern't trying to be heroes after the game. When we lost the Final and 1st leg of semi, i didn't see any drunken yellow jersey's giving them grief, we packed up and left, the scum are just tool's though.
I personally found it funny they put on such a tough front only too be driven out of Gosford hahaha.
Also where was the police present there has been at previous local derby's? looked like there wasn't a 1/4 of the police about. Pretty piss poor IMO. You can expect it too be stepped up about 10 fold for future derby's though.

I only saw the "main" fight outside CCLC immediately after the game and the issues seemed to be:

The scum (sorry, thats what they were) were allowed to walk in front of the club

There were no Police or security anywhere

They were chanting about being so called Champions to rub it in and it was drunken Coasties who then reacted.

Drunken idiots (on both sides) abusing each other with no police tends to equal a fairly ugly scene.

This main fight, how many people are we talking? A bit or pushy shovey between 5-10 people is hardly a fight IMO

Or was it more full on?

10,700-odd from memory.

As for the fight, Newcastle fans walked past singing "we are champions", while Coasties were singing "we got one and you got none, doo-dah, doo-dah". Newcastle fans couldn't handle that and THEY instigated.
