When Lawrie played Simon and Mrjda up front a while back it should have been kept. We need a settled line up. The creative players need to play with the same guys week in week out. There has been no reason to keep dropping Mrjda and there has been no reason to promote Macallister.

Someone said that we needed to clean out the deadwood again. I am not calling for his head or making light of the unbelievable acvhievments he has made with our club, but after this season we can not afford to have Lawrie as coach and manager. He must go upstairs for the good of the club. We need a revolution of the type that is occuring at the Roar.

This form slump is more to do with lazy coaching. The guys to be dumped should have been Boogs and Heff early on. Its a big call but the correct one. They should have been made to prove they belonged after the very poor showings since signing elsewhere. Heff as we have seen would have done it easy. Boogs should not play for this team again, no matter what.

On the upside, a mate of mine who was in The Cove said to me, after the game "You guys were going mental (in the away bay) all game".

We don't have the numbers that they do, but I thought we matched them for enthusiasm. As far as away support goes, numbers were down a little last night (considering it was a week-night and poor form) but we still brought more than the Scum do, or any of the interstate sides do, with the exception of Melbourne.

Away is always > than home games, always has been.

Maybe the guys at the front could move a few rows back and the back rows move down a few?

Not together you understand just close. Coz its gay when the groups touch lol

Agree, rotation smells of fear and panic. LM needs to decide who will be here next season and into the future and start building for next season NOw (or he wont have one himself)

there are still players not signed up at this stage so the performances shows they are going and not having it broadcast (to show respect) or they already know that they wont be resigned so they dont give a toss (which will only result in lower paypackets were ether they go)
Sorry to say this but the Xmas yips have happened from season 2 so maybe that one of the first to look at is Clarkie and his role, does just relying on him as a cheap local (educated) trainer with no worldly expierence qualify him for the role as head conditioner.
One of his jobs would be to make sure each player is sharpe for the coming game both phyiscally and mentally. This does not appear to be the case.
Im not saying the players are not fit but a lot of the times their reflexes and anticipation is very slow for this level of competition. This is his problem,he has to have the players sharpe.
LM problem is foster might be right. LM cannot deliver CCM anything new he does not have the pedigree(unfortune as it is)goneeee

EP - other clubs seem to be able to deal with the ins and outs of contracts without it destroying team harmony.

Not an acceptable excuse IMHO

Get some youth league players in the first squad ... I tho I had seen some poor games but DMac's tonight was beyond bad... Close to the worst performance by any Mariner ever...
LM is up to you put some new blood in the forward line...

Did you watch the NYL game?  I would have joined you in your suggestion until then .. they were poor even if they won.
Please dont say the yoof are starting to suffer by having all the OA players.( OA stands for ordinary aged) They're so good and sooooo close to the plate

+1 .... Agree 100%. It was vital for the club to lock in a coach when the A-League began. Lawrie has always given 100% and has the biggest heart in the League. However, unless you are Sir Alex Ferguson , there comes a time when you know it's time to get out or go up. That time has come. Fresh ideas and fresh challenges are required. ... and Santa, please bring me a player that can score goals.

In RL the life of a coach (at a club) is short however there are exceptions .Wayne Bennent being one. His success is well documented by his rotation of coaching staff . Every two/three years. This allows him to be refreshed with ideas. The legendary Jack Gibson belief was similar but at the opposite end. He believed he could not teach (or convince) a player for more than 3 yrs as his message would not sink in.
So on that thought were do our long term players get new inspiration from

Season is bang on course really. Season 2 that is.

Danny - 7 = didnt have much to do, not at fault for the goal

Crap.  Any keeper beaten as easily as that at the near post is at fault.

Wrong - EPIC FAIL....... Look at the curl on the ball.... NO CHANCE..... But of course you would have saved it....

You guys need to stop listening to foxtel commentators - they have no idea... think for yourself... HOW was Danny ever going to save it.....

you're right. It was a supurb finish. There's just some shots that keepers can't get to, and that was one of them. Even if it was at his front post. The question is. Where was the pressure from the defender?

Ohwell. As long as we beat them in  make the finals I don't care.

Can't be too optimistic even about that, not the way the boys are playing. They need to read 'How to win a game of soccer' and make special note of the part where it says 'Score more goals than the opposition'.

Please don't change my quote. I like mine better. Kthanx

If Lawrie decides to move upstairs we then have the luxury of choosing from Arnie, Frankie or Kozzie LOL :innocent:

Your original quote is still there. Just emphasizing that the Mariners need to actually make the finals first before we start writing up a wish-list for who we'd like to draw.

I was dissapointed not to see young Matthew Lewis in the first grade A-League match last night against Syd FC considering he has had some fantastic appearances for CCM out on the left wing!!

Would of defintely opened the attack down the left hand side.

Although i was at the game and watched the NYL game and Lewis played well and also showed he has potential to play in the centre of the pitch aswell as both left and right flanks.

This young kid looks to be the future of the club and cant wait for the future and what he will bring!
