Ryan.8.Is it the keeping coach or has this guy got great vision and timing, shut down angles in 1 on 1 sits and claimed lose balls early

I don't think Creepy gets the credit he deserves. The best keeper coach in Australia and reads the game as well as anyone!!

Just a bit of interesting trivia here, according the the current football market in the UK Dutchy is currently our highest valued player, which comes as no surprise, but who would guess who our second highest is? It certainly surprised me

Interesting site that, I haven't come across it before.

Guess who has the lowest Market value in the league and the youngest squad.

Brisbane.

Dunno, but adults could get 5 games for $90 and kids $40 over the Christmas/ New Year - and that's a bargain

. in addition to the above though i still think perez needs to be careful about 'going down' too easily

. on one occasion he was given a shove and went down, play was waved on and we were put under real pressure at the back ... he made no effort to 'stay up' and there was no urgency to get back on his feet. i was left thinking about his 'reputation'

. later ... from my view, a lesser offence against him earnt a free-kick and yellow card

. pedj on the hand could have won a couple of free-kicks ... and in one case a penalty if, in my opinion, he had gone to ground. but his instincts wouldn't allow him to do that - play was waved on because he continued to contest the ball

. hard to call, but i think perez needs to be careful and get the balance right

And I reckon Perez should always be able to keep his feet, he is so gifted, so well balanced, so light (literally) on his feet that he should, like Messi, simply ride the challenges instead of crumpling like a rag doll

I loved the way the Red defenders were scrambling to cover Perez, giving Matty an open goal to shoot at. I thought even Eugene was moving to cover the Perez shot. Even when he's not getting the ball, he opens things up for the others.

. two strides earlier i thought matty had stuffed it up by not laying off to perez

. there is no way that eugene should have been beaten at his near post by simon from outside the box. perez won the opportunity and matty took his chance brilliantly

I sit in the West Stand, up high and was looking from behind Matty - he definitely shaped to curl the ball to the top right and Eugene fell for it taking a step to his left thus opening up the space for Matty to slot into the bottom left corner. Quality play.

Yeah thats what I thought Roy.

Re Perez, As an Australian, hard not to agree with the sentiment, but while both players are small, he is a very different build to Messi with a different centre of gravity. Perez really is built just like a young boy, whereas Messi, while short is still a powerful man with explosive speed and strength. (Gotta love those hormone injections :))

So for mine, if your as small and slight as Perez, personally I think it's a pretty tough call to say he should ride out all of the challenges he gets. Don't get me wrong, I don't think just completely "crumpling is ever a good look, but I do still think as a tiny ball player you also have to let players pay for using contact that is illegal but may be let go on a bigger opponents or surely he would run the risk of just being muscled consistently out of the game by less skilful and simply bigger opponents. As it is he forces players to make more perfect tackles if they want to close him down, because he is EXCELLENT at positioning his body between the opponent and the ball no matter how fast he is going or whichever direction he is facing or turning from.

And we know that one of the purported great traits of the world game is that it can potentially be played by all builds to all levels.

In short I think perez does what he has too, but his manner (crumpling) could at least be modified perhaps. However riding all challenges I think is simply not a wise or possible option.

Have you noticed every game that Crawley brings Mat Ryan back onto the field before the half time break is over and warms him up in the goals he will be defending in the second half. He will even ask the opposition substitutes to move from the penalty area whilst he goes through the warm up routine. I'm sure it gets Mat back in the zone for the second half. It's the first time I have seen that happen at any level of football.
