If we play confident and bring our best game we can win. Need better movement off the ball than last week though. Their defence is a little shaky but they can still score goals. Broich is far off his best at the moment. There were not that good agains an understrength Jets team. I switch the TV off as it was so boring. Come on Mariners!!!

If we beat Roar we will be on equal points with them and in striking distance of the six.

Keep in mind that the Roar still have a game in hand thanks to WSW going off to Morocco - we'd need to keep winning and hope they lose at least one game more than us between now and the end of March to hold that place in the six.

I feel bad for saying it, but I think Fitz needs either a hug or a rest. He's making lots of errors and his head's going down when he makes them.

Wacky huh? And we've taken 8pts from our last 5 matches, so we're in better form than the teams behind us and some of the teams in front.

MVC - 10
Ade - 9
Wel - 9
Syd - 8
Bri - 8
CCM - 8
MCI - 7
Per - 5
WSW -4
New - 1

We said that before the Sydney game:(

One thing I really like about Fitzy is he gives 100% . Sometimes it works for him other times it doesn`t.
I think the swap of Ferriera for Duke is fair enough. Fab may not have the tenacity of Duke but in time his crosses, passing & speed will give us more goals.
I liked Hutch going forward last week, he looked good & added to our attack.
I like Capt. Awesomes selections but to be honest I don`t think Rosey or Fitzy will get a start against Roar & may even miss out being on the splinter for obvious reasons. :tinfoilhat:

I was wondering if Fitzy might have been struggling knowing his youth team mate Duke was now off to Japan and he was feeling like he should maybe have advanced more by now himself. Just needs to keep his head down and nose at the grindstone I think. He's shown a lot of improvement in the last two years. Just final ball and finishing now. But yeah, he had a shocker last game for sure.

Personally I though Kalik was better than Caceres–whose movement off the ball and follow up of the second ball has me pretty damn worried. But Caceres has so much talent, you just don't want to give up on him–but very unimpressed last few games.

Based on form, I'd possibly consider benching Fitz and giving Cernak a shot on the other wing. Ferreira surely will come in for Duke and Matty upfront - who though impressively was all but monstered by Osama Malik last week - has not really put a foot wrong otherwise.

Malik monsters everyone. He and Rostyn Griffiths are probably the most under-rated players in the league.

I think he would be in the top 2 for most influential player losses for us. Our game completely changed from back to front when he left.

Unfortunately agree. I think a hug is in order. Just needs a goal in open play and his confidence will soar. Can't see anyone else better on that left side and we need a bit of continuity in the side. One thing about Fitz is he always gives 100%.

We did win a championship after he left, so we can't have been all bad.
