ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

GA said in his post match interview that he would rest most / some of the players for Perth .... said soft tissue injury with so many games were not worth taking... good call me thinks...

Pedj, Rose, and Griffiths looked almost out on their feet at the end of the game in Newcastle, and Olly faded.

Maximum rest line-up:

------------------Ryan------------------
-Bojic--Wilkinson--Doig--Sainsbury
---------------Hutchinson---------------
---McGlinchey------------Lewis---
------------------Amini------------------
------------Baird-------McBreen----------

Bench:
Ibini-Isei
Gallagher
Mallia
Henderson (GK)

There's no way we'd go all-out like this, but I must say it's still a pretty decent line-up. Shows our depth.

I am led to believe that Dutchy, Rose, Perez and Kwasnik are all definitely staying at home at least.

I can imagine that Simon, Griffiths and Pedj will all start from the bench but that is just my hunch.

Bozanic pulled up with cramp against Newy, I would be surprised if he is risked esp as Lewis is a decent replacement

I wouldn't take Pedj or Griff if he isn't going to start. Its very possible that we will need Simon to come off the bench and score the winner or Griff to link defence and attack but unless our defence starts leaking like a sieve, there would be no real advantage in having the other two on the bench.

It would be a huge shake up to rest 3 of our starting back 4, so I would keep Pedj in the starting team and considering Sainsbury has given some encouraging performances this year, Pedj could have a rest in another game (Sydney or Jets?)

-------------Ryan--------------

Pedj---Wilko---Doig---Sainsbury?

------------Hutch--------------

----Glinch---------Bozanic----

------------Amini------------

------McBreen--------Baird---

Bench
Simon
Griff
Lewis
Henderson

Can Sainsbury play left side? Or do we throw either Lewis or Bozanic at LB? With Warren leaving, I see it as the one position where we don't have any real cover, am I forgetting someone?

I wouldn't mind seeing Glinch or Boz having a rest so Mallia/Lewis can get a start. Would love to see Duke get a run as well.

I love the fact that we have so many people we feel can do a job for us. Perhaps we have unrealistic expectations of our untried youths?

Gallagher is left footed defender, may be a candidate for a Rose replacement, though he usually plays central. Mallia hasn;t even played NYL for two months so not likely.

Thanks for that, I was wondering about Gallagher for left side, but thought he played mostly central as you say. Didn't know he was a left footer.

As a Sydney based supporter currently out of the country, my youth team knowledge is restricted to what is posted on here!

Gallagher played well with Doig in Youth!
+ He played 2 games starting CB at u19s Asian Cup (same team as Amini and Warren)

I wouldnt put lewis at LB he is to attack minded, not that he couldnt do the job but just a high possibilty of leaving his post/man in attack apart from that, LEWIS! get 'im out there!!,

Actually, I was sitting next to Pedj's territory in the second half and thought he could run another 100kms, he looked that fresh. I was surprised at his subbing. But as usual this year, Arnie got it spot on, and we lifted well for the final spell.

Sainsbury is a left back/centre back who can really play anywhere along the backline.

Pedj is carrying a thigh injury
