ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

There was an interesting tweet from Northbridge FC earlier tonight in response to a question from a Sydney FC fan:
"… of course we support Sydneyfc!!"

From the back page of today's North Shore Times:

Mariners set sail for north shore
JUNIORS TO PARADE ON THE OVAL
MORE than 1000 juniors will march proudly for their clubs at North Sydney Oval on Friday night.

Picture: GEORGE SALPIGTIDIS Anthony Caceres battles with Rashid Mahazi in a game last season between the Mariners and Victory.

In a special event, the Central Coast Mariners will face Melbourne Victory in the only ALeague match to be played at the community ground this season.

Event marketing co-ordinator Kym Griffen said it was part of the Mariners’ push into the north shore, after the creation of the North Shore Mariners Academy at Northbridge FC.

“This is a real opportunity for the football community to get behind the A-League,” he said.

“We don’t get these events very often at North Sydney Oval, so it’s a great chance for the whole community.

“If we can get lots of people down here, we might get more games here.”

Griffen said the grand parade before the match would be something fun for both the young players involved and the crowd.

“We hope to have about 8000 to 10,000 people in by then, so it will be a real buzz for the kids,” he said.

“There’s about 25 main clubs that make up most of the numbers in the North Shore Football Association. We know that 21 of those will be in the parade.

“There are clubs like Kissing Point who have had to stop getting kids involved because they already had more than 100.”

While the Mariners and Victory are warming up in the middle of the oval, the juniors will march around the edge of the field.

Each club will have its banner flying and the youngsters will be dressed in their club colours.

After the parade, the juniors will watch the match from specially allocated bays. Before the game, fans can enjoy the two food villages outside the ground, plus a variety of activities for children and adults.

Engage with the community and CCF and everything will be fine.

To be honest I think there's a fair bit of handwaving in this suggestion. Clearly there were/are problems between CCM and CCF, but unless either Stalder/Charlesworth or Darren Sprod come out and make a statement we're not going to know if that relationship is already being worked on.

In any case I think it will be a while before the CCF clubs decide to provide anywhere near the level of support that the NSFA clubs are right now.

Can you give me a potted history of this CCM/CCF conflict? It's not an ego driven thing, is it?

I remember when Charlsworth first took over he bagged out CCF in the media saying they were very poorly run, blah blah blah.

He started off on the wrong foot and it all went down hill from there.

From memory it actually went back into the Turnbull era, and it wasn't just ego driven - among other things there were conflicts around how CCMA should be run and funded, and there have been issues with returning money to clubs from the Mariners Mates program.

I'm sure there are others here who are closer to CCF clubs who are able to provide more detail though...

Hopefully not but if they are a rendition of The Funeral March would be in order. #SayNoToNSO

We are working on some "things" to take this afternoon. The only chanting I will do is against the idea like last year and hopefully others do the same.We can't force anyone to protest but you'd think most are against the idea.
Highlight of last year was Charlesworth coming into the stand we were in and we all gave him both barrels.Surely he's not dumb enough to come into the stand again.
