The first of 5 games at home in a row, just before Christmas let's hope for a good crowd! Forecast is looking pretty good at the moment.

You would think GA will stick to the same team that started yesterday, perhaps Perez to start if the extra few days get him fully fit, or perhaps McBreen to start against his former club? My guess will be same team.

All I want for Christmas is 3 points please, Mariners 2-1

It's a should win and a must win, three points would take us ahead of Gold Coast and set up a block buster against Adelaide. Not fussed if Amini or Perez start, just want us to roll out that superior attacking flair that we have begun to show in recent times. As for the crowd - Wednesday night? We'll see, I reckon it'll be the hard core faithful.

Anyone know the kick off time? The Roar website says 7:30pm (EST) but it also says we're playing Newcastle.

Close games don't do my blood pressure any good, so I'll ask for 6-zip.
Matty with a sub-10 sec. starter & one more later, Perez a couple & Musty a late couple.

As previously stated, this is a massive game for us.

North Queensland are a team that can cause us damage. Although they don't play a possession game, they move the ball quickly, particularly on the counter which is probably the best way to break down our strong structure.

Contrast this to the Melbourne Heart and Victory games at Bluetongue, where they played a possession game, but enacted slow ball movement which resulted in few threats on our goal.

Brisbane are the only team to combine possession and quick ball movement, and its no coincidence they put us to the sword.

However, i think North Queensland lack the quality and troops to trouble us at this stage of the season. My prediction is 2-0 to the good guys.

Crowd: Heart says 9k, Head says 6.903k.

I'd say an 8k crowd or just under.

Fury are dangerous, but barring some bad luck, we have all the ingredients to win this game and I think we will.

Mariners 3 -1 against a spirited Fury.

Musty to get his first goal. I'm putting a tenner on it.

Two problems we could have tonight:
1. Pasfield will want to show everyone that we made the right choice signing him for next season;
2. Nikas will want to show us what we missed out on by letting him go.

Pasfield showed that last game I think - had a few inspired saves - so should be out of his system now ;)

Loved Panni, but without the pace of Cernak to balance Williams they will struggle to create too many inside the box genuine chances you would hedge. I'm more worried if Williams or Talay hits a speculator/screamer and they get the tails up. BIG confidence team the Fury.

Also the absence of Osama Malik is significant for them I think, pace and strength on the ball that I'm happy they are without.

NOTE TO ARNIE: Please court/win the heart of/offer first born/keys to city...etc etc... to secure David Williams as a MAriner as his plan B if Fury should fall over come Feb 1st.

Throw in another quality RB/Right sided cover player and we would win the league with Williams and challenge in Asia to boot.

GAME DAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
OH YEAH!!!
