Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I didn’t see the game, just read 2 articles.
Gist of it seems to be; men against boys yet again.
Mcbreen told the nation the truth, we are f**king dogshit and will continue to be.
And the goal post broke and made us even more of a joke.

I have been here from the start.
This season I have seen the worst recruitment ever, I have seen the worst selections ever, I see a team with absolutely no direction. I see a team with no structure. I see a team without a spine. I see a team with no idea how to defend, play out from the back or able to put an attacking move together.

Pretty much sums it up. Last night was the worst performance I've seen from an A-league team and the reasons you've given above were big contributing factors. Got worse as the game went on. No plan or clue how to change the game, from the manager or he players.
Three or four passes across the back then long ball. Spread the field when we have the ball but no one filling the space left by that player, just allow yourself to be marked out by a well disciplined defence.
Can understand the Mulvey out calls but I said at the start of this season the problem is deeper rooted than that. Scouting is abysmal, and the owner is the one that needs to move on before we no longer have an A-league side.
Different coach - same crap until that happens. Or a coach that can have significant influence on the owner.

Not just scouting, but given our team can't perform basic, basic tasks.....what's going on there? I imagine that even though we only seem to do actual football training a couple of hours a week that shouldn't be the issue, other better clubs are probably the same. Or is it?

So I have been chatting to a very reliable source that I can’t name as it would affect the current players. Turns out Baro, Brama and Hiariej were all told to piss off at the start of the season. Baro and Brama left but Tom chose to stick it out. This is why Mulvey won’t play Tom. Which is real shame as I rate Tom as our best. He hasn’t shown it much this year but I lay that down to Mulvey’s man management and not building confidence in players.

Also hearing Mulvey is losing the dressing room. Players don’t trust him.

So, exactly what happened in Brisbane then?

Went down to the fence after the game and asked Pain - ''what the hell is going on?'' and he replied ''i don't know man'' and walked off before l could have a proper chat with him. Would have liked to ask a lot more things but oh well. What can he say l guess. Credit to him for even coming around, majority of the squad couldn't get off the pitch quick enough. There was barely anyone left in the stadium but front up to the diehards who still care and want to hear from their players.

The disconnect between the fans and the players/staff is plain to see. Community disconnect is also l feel at an all time low.

Any player not coming over to thank the fans is completely inexcusable. Simon, this one's a test for your leadership - and Mulvey.

the fans have been suffering for years and are still forking out a lot of money - not to mention the time commitment - to turn up week after week, and the players can't be bothered acknowledging that?

That attitude can go and get f**ked.

We know they're hurting, and they don't want to hear the negative comments - but that's part of the job that they're getting paid for - and in some cases, getting paid a lot of money for.

I also witnessed a long term member getting stuck into DDTMM as he went in at half time. To his absolute credit Dan came back after the break and engaged the man and calmed him down. He didn't make excuses, he just showed empathy and tried to offer solutions. If others in the club, management, coach and players, cared as much and did their job as well we wouldn't be where we are.

I don't know what Dan gets paid, but it isn't enough - he's very good at handling this sort of thing.
Must be hard staying motivated in the face of that sort of thing - and the comments around renewal time.

What was the member having a go at Dan about?
