ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

So I’d post this in the Bolt thread but if I go back there I’m sure I’ll devlop a tumour.

With his trial now confirmed it’s becoming more and more clear and pretty much inevitable that the club is going to deem him good enough for a contract and these 4 NPL signings are more than likely on the assumed low wages to have more money for bolt.
This genuinely hurts my heart.
Cue the circus music.

So Pikey will be known as CM which stands for Circus Master rather than his previous title MC which stood for Miserly C___.

Or we could combine his love for buffoonery....Moss, Tony, Okon and his love of penny pinching and dub him "MC Miser".

Professional sport is a circus. Anyone who thinks differently is delusional.
Between 8 wks for breaking someone's jaw and not being charged by the police to bolt trialling with us, the circus has had it all today.
I think it takes a circus to hold people's attention these days unfortunately.

If MC says he will cover $2.1M you can bet that he has locked in $2.1M in sponsors. I don't think the NPL signings really come into it. If it happens I doubt the club will pay a cent that is not covered by the sponsors or the FFA marketing budget.

What he does do though is take a visa spot.

I would hope he's that shrewd at least...

He's taken no spot as yet and if he does get a gig then I wouldn't be surprised if he is a guest and falls completely outside the guidelines in regards to the squad. Others have had players which were surplus to the visa quota.

I know everyone wants MC to sell the farm, but this is a genuine chance to make money that will help us break our poverty cycle and be able to improve our roster. I doubt Shaun is going to all this bother because he wants more likes on our facebook page.

I want to get out from the boot of the richer clubs – that we have consistently out worked and out innovated – but we still suffer because we're small and our owner isn't wealthy enough to dump endless amounts of money into the smallest side in the HAL.

A strong management team could balance this circus act alongside creating a strong football side/culture. Not sure the football side of things have been a priority by CCM management, but I guess this season will have the definitive answer. It will surely be make or brake for some diehards.

While this Bolt circus hurts my head, I am genuinely excited by the Murray signing. I just hope MM can develop him in the same way our club has done for others in the distant past.

The only time the club has seen really good crowds was when we had Aloisi playing. We had a good season as well.

When Arnie was in charge we had very good seasons but average crowds.

Simple. The punters like a circus.

The only thing that worries me is that if Bolt gets to play he could disrupt the whole ethos MM is trying to create.

Best result we can hope for is that he comes on board and helps generate enthusiasm in the change rooms rather than be an ADP style of aloof superstar, but for the crowds he is a superstar and gets them in with a few cameo off the bench performances.

The bigger circus will be the FFA v the A-League (watch this space).

Still a lot of water to go under the bridge yet, but an interesting ride.

Great coup from the club and one that will give us massive publicity around the world. There will be huge crowds and media attention for the first few games, shame we are not at home for the first and it would make sense if he gets through the trials to hold him back for a bench spot for our home game.
However, at this stage we are still 2 or 3 quality players short of winning more games than we lose. I am a rusted on (or should i say bolted in) fan who has been there since day one, but i'm not sure if i, or the fam, can handle another season of mediocrity.
It is absolute madness in my mind to put so much effort into getting someone like Bolt here then filling the squad with youth and NPL players. Now, i absolutely support the development of young players, its our lifeblood, but we need to get the balance right. Hoping still for the O'Neill announcement and a decent RB.
