I've been very happy with the signings I have seen with us. I haven't seen Kennedy since his injury or Glover and now Asdrubal. The rest, however, seem to be gelling very quickly.

If we are only going to sign one more I'd like it to be someone in the style of Milligan or Rostyn Griffiths. A midfielder with a bit of grit that can drop back to CB or push forward and be a goal threat.

Agree PJ, I've been saying it for a while, an enforcer would round out our squad very nicely

Looks pretty good, still with some depth on the wings especially with Trent and Kwabsi.
Some versatility in defence and Hoole has also been playing in the #10 role.
Rowles has looked good in pre season, and I would expect Ascroft and McGing to do better alongside Baro if required.
Anybody know the extent of Powell's injury?

So Rosebud on notice? You can be our DM but if you don't control team then I'll replace you. If you do I'll get another CB

Like to see us have an FFA cup game against A League opposition so that it's serious with no swapping half the team. Also will be competitive so would get a real good look at what we need.

If we wait to long to see what we need do we run the risk of there being nothing left? End of preseason would be after the window closes.

Not convinced Paolo would be on the hunt for a true enforcer type or he would surely have kept Monty. Think he wants and prefers silky ball players, more like he was himself and Tom H is sported to be. The fact he's happy to wait till after pre season on another possible signing means he wants to actually see based on performances where he thinks they look deficient and spend accordingly. Another smart/wise move and shows a strong understanding of how players and teams do and don't come together regardless of how things look on paper.

It's nice to see the excitement on here. I think it's merited.

We played some great football last year that was mostly marred by unforced errors by young inexperienced players + a few sub par ones, lack of depth exacerbated by players well past their physical prime, and imo one of our poorest runs with the whistle to date. Even then there was huge improvement under him, if not on the ladder, certainly in our performances, style of football and spirit.

Combine that with the fact that looking at our squad you'd be hard pressed to not say we do not look at least 30% stronger.
I base this off having Baro and DDS in the spine, stronger cover at LB and also Hoole I think will consistently cause more problems than Fab did and having someone who can finally take a set piece is worth probably 10% on it's own.

Monty, Roy and Izzo are our only big losses, but there's reason to hope Tom H is not just an adequate Monty replacement but better suited to Okonball. Asdrubal (not to be confused with an auto correct of Okonball) looks like he could be of at least Roy's calibre and hopefully better. Everyone seems to agree Glover looks the goods.

Young players also typically though not always improve. But I do expect we will see improvements from Roux. Ascroft, McGing, Rose, Berry, Trent, Pain, Bingham and also Kubi though he's not that young anymore. I've seen it before, and sooner or later that kind of investment in a lot of youth starts to pay off in teams.

Still have to get it done on the park, but there's definitely good cause for a lot more optimism and it also doesn't look like Okon has broken the bank Arnie style, just spent a great deal wiser than Moss and Walmsley before him.

tell you what, i have to say cynical hand on cynical heart, that this team has me pumped for the first time in a long time, , they have a feeling about them, not saying they gonna take the lot, but their gonna be a damn side better than the last two seasons.....having said that, I probably just jinxed 'em

Breaking story on twitter is we have signed a Dutch midfielder called Wiut Brama. Looks quality. Worth 1.5M Euros on transfermarket.

We gunna win the league.
