I would use the term possible rather than strong chance, as we have been prone to underperforming at times. Consistency is what we need to show in the coming weeks and that is the key thing the boys need to show in the coming weeks.

Agree, but I was positing on from the next four games - that if we had won a few - so at least 3 of the 4 - that at that point I think we’d be a strong chance to make the finals. Seems accurate to me.

From right here and now before those games have been played though, I’d say we were a ‘possible chance’ of finals still.

Think I’d prefer a winger who can score and set up Skapetis and Powell

Appaih is just not cutting it on the results side.

While ever Appiah is feeding our Striker we are wasting our money on one

I watched the Paulo interview and he looked like a dodgy car salesman........................i.e we will not bother to sign a number 9 but we will pretend to talk about it but to give u hope .... "if summink thats a great motor turns up, course we r gonna grab it, we aint mugs u know, but class motors dont turn up everyday ".......as Pikey puts the kybosh on any player thats not cured lame but cheap.

This is a good point. We had a good striker the previous 2 years but sub par service

Appiah clearly couldn't hit an elephant at 2 paces but... I stand by my earlier comments about how much he has also created... He hasn't had a whole lot of the sort of shitty pass situations like he did with Hoole the other day... Hoole on the other hand, has been all about those... If I hadn't been so frustrated at the time and it hadn't been so bloody important, I would've felt that there was a bit of karma involved there.
Appiah has had some exceptional forays down the side, while playing as a winger - he does them well... he just never seems to have anyone following on to get the crosses.
He's clearly not innocent, but with a capable striker, he would looked very different I reckon.

Three weeks ago he was adamant we weren't signing anyone but did... so which is it?

Don't agree about Appiah. Asdrubal has more assists and goals for the Mariners than Appiah has had in his whole career. He's seriously scored 2 goals a created 1 assist in his professional career. 1 f**king assist. I dont think it matters who is around Appiah he just doesn't have the head for it.

Just looking over the stats and they tend to disagree with you as well. Hoole is 4th on the list for chances created and 3rd for crosses in the aleague. Hoole is doing so much more than Appiah to get the ball in the net. Appiah creates excitement but it doesn't ever result in things that help us win football matches.

It clearly isn't helping us win, but that's sort of my point... There's noone there for him to play off, I reckon that excitement could convert to something if it wasn't always Appiah running down the flank and then finding himself alone with three defenders.
I would however, really like to see what the spread on the stats looks like across the season so far, because my perception is that there has been a marked tendency for Hoole in particular, to pass the ball sideways rather than try for chances, lately... Something that didn't happen as much before November.

Bearing in mind as well, that I'm not saying that Hoole sucks particularly or even that he's not productive... Just that there's been a at least a couple of those chances each game, where all he needed to do, was play the other guy in yellow, in front of him, ad he opted for the throng of defenders... Selfishness is fine in an attacking player, but there has to be a limit somewhere.

Multiple issues, but that wasn't mostly due to our wingers though it was not having a proper #10 imho.

crosses is a useless stat. They could be bad crosses. Chances created is subjective as well.

This is the issue. Sure he gets past his opponent but he'll never be skilled enough to actually cross the ball, which is a wingers primary objective, creating chances.

It's all very exciting seeing him breeze past a slow fullback but how f**king infuriating is it to see him bottle the cross/pass/shot 5 seconds later.
