I remember him in a Club Brugge shirt. And a Lazio shirt. And a Socceroos shirt, where he was captain (including at the Confeds Cup where we beat Brazil and the reigning World Champions, France, and in a taste of things to come had trouble against Japan and South Korea), and had a massive feud with Ned Zelic.

Cranky Frankie picked PO over NZ in the Australian team and Ned left never to play for Australia again ... love to hear how even minded Fox will be this year... Okon deserves time, as a player he was great injury is what plagued him most ,in his prime his passing and distribution was amazing. This year will be tough when you compare what other teams have purchased to bolster there stocks , we got to be patient, and lets see what he unfolds ,we won't be as predictable as we were last season .

McAleny was only speculation. The CB we did approach and agree with Everton and the player was a young CB Brendan Galloway. He was blocked by the FFA. Since then he has played 23 games for Everton first team at LB

Im not 100% sure that Tommy Slater is still there @ Syd FC ???

I dont remember him being mentioned at all in match reports from the NPL2
- so after a bit of checking & looking back through the teamsheets of SydFC's NPL2 campaign just gone, Slater shows up for the first 7 rounds then 'drops off the face of the earth' !!

Slater's NEVER listed again, right up to the last Rnd 26 & including the Finals/Grand Final

- Major Injury perhaps ???

And does/is the the FFA rule prohibiting U23 overseas player still in effect ?
It was that 'rule' scuttled our request's to the FFA previously for Everton players.

Interesting in the last Ramble SM said that the squad is still to be completed - another player or even 2 still possible following the Adelson injury (a single player would be at a higher value due to the original budget + the insurance saving from Adelsons wage)
