ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

As a few have mentioned we could do with another, preferably experienced CB, I think this guy would be suffice:

Thwaite’s Homecoming:

Not even half way into a two-year deal and Michael Thwaite wants to terminate his contract with Chinese Super League Club, Liaoning Whowin.

With more than 20 games played and a few goals scored, the former Perth Glory captain has had a fairly successful campaign with Liaonin, but is understood to be seeking a release from his $600,000 deal for family reasons.

The Cairns-born central defender’s family didn’t go with him to China and he wants to return to Queensland to be with them.

At 33-years-old, it is believed Thwaite wanted to return and play one last season in the A–League with Brisbane Roar, but salary cap constraints may prove to be a hurdle.

Wished we had of signed him instead Zac Anderson when Clive Palmer turned Gold Coast to shit, alas.

If the 'smiling assassin' can consider moving further Sth than Brissy & could be sold on the Coast being great for his family then we have some 'Rosey-dollar$' in the coffers.

Good back-up for/pairing with Faty (who is prone to suspensions). Has leadership, experienced, good defender with some grit & versatillity - as can easily transition into the DM role where he is more than capable.

Aerially good, as well as on the ball when playing out and keeping possesion. He reads the play really well, a skill we lost way back when the likes of Wilko, Jedinak & Zwanny departed us.

If Brisb are 'full-up' & his asking price isn't tooo high I'd sign him, even just on a 1 year deal .... to help rebuild back the confidence - both on & off the pitch.

Vidosic to be terminated:

A creative/attacking specialised #10
......hmmmmm ???

Not an out'n'out #10, but did have some good form for the Wanderers when with them last.

Probably a bit exy for CCM but if Dario can negotiate a considerable chunk of the $700k he's contractually 'owed', that may negate in toward his asking price - especially if there are no other gigs on offer within the A-League, that doesn't also put a club over it's cap.

Personally, would like to see how Blake Powell goes there in that role for us.

Interestingly, noticed in an interview with Tav that he too spoke of the '#10 role' when talking about what Okon expects of him this season. So Paolo might prefer to defer until the Jan transfer window before making any significant signings like a Vidosic.

Again, like all things with CCM
...... it comes down to the available ca$h.

He played two matches before being supposedly punted - a League game Emirates lost 4-0, and a Cup game they lost 5-1.

He was part of the starting backline, which conceded 9 goals in their first two competitive matches of the season.

EDIT: I digress. He played THREE games. It was also a League game, which Emirates lost 5-2.

So three games, shipped 14 goals.

I guess Zac needs a club...quickly, and we need a back up CB. Wasn't quite what I had in mind but it does strengthen our back 4. Really, I think we are been a bit unkind to the kid. He's no Dutchy but he's not as bad as all that. Back a couple of seasons he was quite highly regarded, generally he isn't a bad player but seems to be prone to moments of indecision.

Always struck me as someone who played a little behind the pace of the game, even though he looks capable of playing faster. Looks like he's always thinking "I bet I look like an imposing CB right now".
