We forked out roughly $600k on Garcia for 10 games, one of which he claimed as an RDO for a 'Liverpool Legend's' game in Hong Kong.

If were going to do the same shit again then were justing wasting the time & the money, as well as the other negative points mentioned by FP.

If we only have the ca$h for a 'Marquee' starting in January,
- then DONT GET ONE !!!

Use the $600k on the best darn AM we can find that's prepared to play a full season for those dollars,
......... including a pre-season, because
- A pre-season IS BLOODY IMPORTANT !

That would have a far greater impact on the overall season with with the benefits of the raised onfield performance overflowing to an increase in crowds when we finally start to have home games regularly at around Rnd 12/13.

& isn't that the primary reason Garcia was brought in last January ??
to get the 'pissed-off punter's' bum's, back on seats ??

It wasnt to turn the shit season around and make the finals, that's for sure !

Not sure if $600K would buy him but Bret Holeman is looking for a new club ... he can play 10 as well as wide ...

Yeah, PJennings & I have been spruiking him as a viable option for quite a while.

The club really needs a greater injection of ca$h from MasterFoods this season &/or an additional input from another source/$ponsor to meet this requirement.

This AM position can't & shouldn't be looked at as a luxury signing.

IT'S a NECESSITY signing !

'HOL-MAN' to fill the "hole" ;)

Might be some more releases coming. Didn't think we had that many spots available

There could well be. We are at 21 players at the moment. Short a starting CB and a starting 10. Could probably do with another young striker. I think we are still less $2mill so have at least $340,00o to spend. We have 5 visa players so hopefully both Monty and Fab get their citizenship before the season starts. Remember we can also go to 26 players with 3 youngsters not counting towards the squad size.

Of course I agree and as I have said before he is exactly the type of Australian player that the FFA should be supporting with their marquee fund. Of the non-marquee Australians looking for a gig I would be keen to trial Giancarlo Callifuoco, Mate Dugandzic and Peter Skapetis. From Everton I would like to look at Mason Holgate at CB and Keiren Dowell at CAM/LW/RW. (Assuming that the underage restriction has gone)

F'Me'Dead !!! :headbutt:
were stilllllll 'looking in Arnie's dustbin for a treat' !

Is this further proof that the much needed AM position, that so desperately NEED's to be filled with quality, is looking to be done on the 'cheap' ???
Concerning.

Newcastle Jets are expected to confirm the return of Australian youth international Andrew Hoole on Tuesday, after Sydney FC agreed to release the attacking midfielder.

The Sky Blues announced the 22 year-old was free to sign with another club on Monday, despite having a year to run on the two year deal he signed at the start of the 2015-2016 A-League season.

The World Game understand Broadmeadow Magic junior Hoole's signing could be announced by the Jets within the next 24 hours.

The Central Coast Mariners had also expressed an interest in signing the former Newcastle Jets Player of the Year.

Thanks GRA. That's what I needed to hear about the number #10 position.

Agree with Rowdy. "NECESSITY" not a luxury... and will not be happy with a gap filler.

Just watched England v Slovakia and the two players that impressed me most were Slovakia's keeper Kozacik and CB Skertel.
Any chance Charlesworth?

Not at all realistic. We now have three keepers on the books, and Skrtel's weekly wage is apparently £75k, or $7.7m a year. Pretty sure that number is not far from the entire club budget.

True.
And both players prices will go up after the Euro Champs.
Ok, I'll settle for Jack Wiltshire as our 10.

He was our 1st ever NYL captain & he had a pretty powerfull shot iirc though I'd rather have panduravic (even though he was a Moss signing).

I always thought highly of Panni. Caceres had better feet - but in attitude and ability to control and dictate a game - he showed much greater promise.

But after the season we've had. We need a ten proven at this level or ideally above.
